I think the bots were applied to relief the traffic pressure for the server because there won't be too many guys just refresh the page of Item shop, but here's another question, too many bots may also crush the server, maybe there should be some limit of bots, such as they need spend haths to active bots like IA?

As far as how tough it's going to be to get crystal for the monsterlab: So far, they have been coming in rather often on my bot purchases.
I set a max of 100 of each type of crystal on my wishlist. That should leave some for others.

you'd better get the crystal via WTS or WTB

There is only one bot. When an item is sold, the current high bid is looked up in a table or the like. It's not going to cause significant load, certainly less than human campers. This post has been edited by mechafujoshi: Jun 30 2012, 09:10

QUOTE(fat_zealot @ Jun 30 2012, 01:25) need spend haths to active bots like IA? That... actually sounds like something Tenboro would implement. Maybe the whole item shop bot panel should be a single hath perk to keep out the riff-raff.

I'd actually be kind of okay with that. Also, lol @ people spending 125+ credits on Vigor/Fortitude crystals. And the current high bid on Vigor is 10k. Hahaha, oh wow.

Just make an auction style page where people can post and bid on items, just like the hath exchange....buyers get a good deal, and sellers make profit. No scalping or camping BS.
i.e. you post an offer to sell X for Y, and it is queued until yours is the lowest price -- people get to search by stock or price and take it from there. what do you guys think of this? lol

There have always been rich people willing to spend money in order to save time. So what's new with that? Once those time-pressured people have bought what they want, it will be as Tenboro said; it will come to an end and things will be more normal. In the meantime, the rich people spending money is part of the "free market" that resulted when bazaar bots were enabled for everyone to use. Before the official bazaar bot feature was added, bazaar buying bots were used by only those people who shared their bots, perl'ed, [ msdn.microsoft.com] VB for web, modded existing greasemonkey tools that already interfaced with HV, etc. There's no getting rid of bots as seen in all the myriad online mmorpg clients that don't even use something so easily botted as HV does. HV's interface begs for botting if you're a microsoft visual studio user or are competent at utilizing greasemonkey and two other support tools for it. I used to try to spot the bot by buying items like crystals in varying patterns, mostly single-unit purchases pounded in manually of course, trying to see if I could spot the bots without using statistical tools. All too often, I would see multiple sets of items disappear all at once (too much coincidence) which suggest a bot buying everything at once. Other times, I would see items disappear no matter how I tried to "confound" normal users trying to buy all at once which either suggested luck in the normal user beating me to the punch, or the response time of a bot beating me out (more likely with the method I was using). My opinion from testing the system implied that there were definitely player-made bots. So, I am glad that the bazaar has the official bot function now to not only level the playing field, but also to enable "free market dynamics" to exist despite players in real-life being too busy to camp out for just a game. Now, if only bot playing could be gotten rid of. All the riddlemaster does is just cause an alarm to sound where the botting player solves the puzzle before heading back to playing warcraft, homework, or whatever.

After going back to what I used to do and playing a full group of Arenas:
Drops: Saw a couple interesting weapons, but I rarely get anything good anyway, so it doesn't affect me much. You'll see some crazy high prices for certain rare items in WTS now. And other players are still reporting high grade armors with missing PABs.
Shop: Bot kills any hope of a low credit player ever getting something good. Values to sell back are still nerfed from the last time, and since you don't get a kickback from selling to the shop to somebody's Bot (which right now, there are a lot of overvalued bot bids), it's useless. At least before you could get lucky once in a while and beat the campers to something, now 0 chance. The shop is now essentially only a crap-equipment drop garbage bin, unless you have tons of credits and enjoy paying up to 10x or more value for something.
Battle: Health buff at least gives you a chance if you've gotten insta-killed and on-shotted a lot, but it's a band-aid as somebody else already mentioned. Customs still hit too hard and survive too long on the lower difficulties. STUN is still nerfed when customs can simply parry or dodge you while reeling, which remains dumb and unique from the majority of RPGs platforms ever.
Bottom line: Meh.
