as for the argument i think there's two sides to everything. but yes i don't agree with the discussion in this thread. basically the thread started off angry and that only brings more hate into it.

you suggest that most upgrades are for the sake of hostility. in some cases it's true. some players get their pleasure at the expense of others. it's probably related to why player vs player exists in 70%+ of gaming.

however remember that thse monsters bring loot. and almost every chaos upgrade means +chance of their monster bringing in more loot. so the motive may simply be for high loot chance. keep in mind, ever time you suffer (die), they get a chance at more loot.

and then there's the people that are just want to perfect the monster either due to OCD or because they love that character so much (curse of the Tamagotchi's!)

it's true. but i would say, try to find ways around it. there aren't perfect solutions but there are "better methods than others" existing right now.

i think that's what scorpio was trying to say in one of his threads. and although i don't support scorpio's attitude in general, i agree with his concept there. there's a lot of players that only complain and spend most of their time posting in the forum saying "i can't do this" or "i can't do that" when that time is better spent figuring things out for themselves. sometimes they might need some help from "ask the expert" thread but hey, there's always a solution.

i'm not saying you only complain (because i think this is the first complaint i've seen from you in the forum). but time spent complaining could be time spent experimenting. i think i've done complaining a few times myself (don't remember when though) but i know i do my fair share of experimenting so normally i don't have major problems with *any* patches

People seems to worry about new players, but AFAIK the current leveling speed should be the fastest in HV's history.
