Fighting battle after battle, hoping to find pieces of rare, awesome equipment to make my character even stronger, or to sell at the Shop and get more credits for training or downloading galleries....but now that I know that there's a good chance it's going to be poor quality (I've seen Superior+ pieces of equipment in the Shop that have no stat bonuses at all) AND it's going to sell for next to nothing, part of the charm's been lost. Oh dear. I've got this monster that at PL 23 and I lack crystals to do anything about it. Oh well. Do unactivated monsters still give items? I suppose not right? Well, all those chaos tokens I'm accumulating might get some use now ...If I do get enough crystals anyway.

Just hate the players with maces....
-- One-handed: 1.5 => 3.0 per point -- Two-handed: 2.0 => 3.0 per point -- Dual-Wield: 2.5 => 5.0 per point
Double the bonus for 1h and dual, but give 2h just a meager 3.
Maybe you can provide a reason based on math or logic for this? I bought myself a eth mace and now I feel like being cheated on every patch.
Anti-evade, anti-block, anti-you-name-it: what for? Reconsider the actual formulas for hit, block, etc before actually messing up with "new" stats. New stats will be adapted and calculated within the old ones, so why not changing those existing ones to tweak?
Balancing is hard to do, but maybe you can think of it.

39 5 You have been defeated. 39 4 Breath hits you for 22787 piercing damage.
wtf is this-????? I have 6874 HP... shouldn't there be some cap so monsters can't get you in one hit?

Concurring opinion that this update hurt mages :/ I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but farming Overcharge with staff strikes even for lower level stuff seems more dangerous and slower (even when you compensate for higher mana use) than simply nuking things with (now seemingly necessary) higher level spells. At least for me, Focus/ET are never used.
In my opinion, the "anti evade" stats are a bad idea. Defense piercing perhaps, but that? It just makes mages even MORE squishy!
Also, something else: It's kind of hard to make the kind of specialized monster I'd like right now because the lower level upgrades are so cheap for the benefit relative to later ones. It's kind of hard to justify not getting upgrades that cost 1 or 2 tokens regardless of what they're good for, or whether they would make sense on the character.

Nope. Spark of Life or Spirit shield.

I was somehow totally owned on normal yesterday, but today I left normal for the first time and found out I'm quite strong.... trying heroic now, just sliced like nothing thru 31 rounds of grindfest and still going... only crit can stop me now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Even on IWBTH I can survive 6-7 rounds. btw: how do I trigger spirit shield? I couldn't figure that out (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

The spell will fail if you don't have sufficient Spirit.
You should probably spend more time on arenas.

No reason a player should be pwned on normal in our turn, until deep into IW/GF/CF, but on IWBTH there is nothing wrong with that (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) To trigger Spirit Shield, you must have the ability, and then cast it. When a monster hits you for over 25% of your max life it will trigger draining 25% of your health and some spirit. You can still get one shot though unless you also use spark.
