Notice the differences in domain name and the differences in collection ID. If I remove the g. from the gallery site it will not find anything. If I add g. to the other site it will not find anything.

The non g. version has a popup pseudowindow style image viewer app too.

Why are there two sites? which of them should I be using?

So basically, one is user submitted content and the other is "official"?
But there is the same content in both... is there any form of sync between them? does content flow from one to the other or what?

EDIT: I don't think this is correct. The ONLY way to get content in the non gallery site is via the "random" button. Everything else links to galleries. I think galleries is meant to replace the old system.

You can get to the old system through links under the "Content" heading on the main site. That system is original to the site (fun fact: auras used to be linked to which galleries you could access). User-submitted galleries came later in the site's evolution, as you can confirm by checking the post dates on the different systems.

Run in Parallel, though who knows when the last time anything has been added to the main site galleries. For what its worth they both live in the same place, so it's not necessarily like any additional bandwidth is being used by keeping it there.

It's also in place for the Hentaikey users who I believe can download anything on the main site for free (as in no credits), and has access to the E-H movie section, which is specifically for Hentaikey users.

I think I am supposed to be able to add stuff to the old site but, I don't remember if Tenboro made the tool(s) I would need to upload to "non-g".

I think that the plan was the new uploads would be kind of a "Hall of Fame" for newer doujins/manga.

That whole thing was never finished and/or put into action. And there are certain issues that make that whole thing problematic, outside of simply not having put the time into finalizing it.

Why bother, it's kinda useless anyway. Just make a toplist of some sort for "official" stuff.
