Wow, the project looks awesome. I especially like the SF X Tekken story and the page with the girl from Battle Vixens. Totally hot stuff.

I'm note sure I can (or should) take part though. I'm busy with work as is to even have time for my own series, let alone guest star in one. And also, I do admit my art is sub-par... it would easily be the worst looking story when put together with all the others.

The "door" is always open, if you change your mind.

I'm also confused about 'publishing'. where will you put it, and if you make money off of it, how are you gonna split it between the artists involved?

Publish it to the E-Hentai galleries, is not about making money & it's a single doujin with random stories.
I'll put a list with every participant's name on each d-project, so the readers could also visit their art threads.

They're doing it mostly out of envy and/or boredom.

Nonsense, it's because we like drawing & comic team-up is a good motivation.

Edit: In all honesty it takes longer for me to do the line art than the screentone.

I would suggest to keep it secret, so you can surprise us later.

Why not use burn/dodge or play with layers' opacity... screentones as presented in that article seem to me more appropriate for paper prints, without the help of any form of any software... or am I missing something?

that's the catch
since Manga's are actually a Print works, which is the textures are unique. so to give the "comic BW textures, screentones are applied as a pattern additions in any forms of graphic raster or drawings software, i.e Photoshop

Yes. Then again there is no "correct" way of applying screentones. Just think of it as coloring any other work Except its in total greyscale.
Well i cheat too since i got my plug-in to work with cs5 it works wonders because of all the tones im able to use. FYI the books are still in print [www.graphicsha.com] here.
Very good books imo because of the techniques they teach and honestly i wouldn't be surprised if the artists themselves are changing to using computones rather than traditional screen tones. Digital distribution may be the cheaper alternative in the long run.

WHY NOT ARRR... lol Essentially its just greyscaled drawings and imo way easier to do than actual coloring. But im just lazy.. i would color it if i had the time.
