I recently commissioned Kalevala to get some doujins my usual source couldn't get. I was answered quickly, and within a day of sending the money, the products were bought and ripped, and the end results sent to me! Plus, he's a nice guy to talk to as well!
I originally used another source here for doujins (SXIndy) seeing he was the first person somebody suggested. However, for the two doujins I wanted, I needed to have them downloaded and ripped. My usual source couldn't buy things from an international site, so I decided to turn to Kalevala. I was not disappointed!
I now know where to turn for when I need digital things downloaded! Thanks, Kalevala!

First of all I want to thank Kalevala for his work.

Then and although it is not in my habits I will give my opinion.

I have already used several scanners on this forum. Let's say I had good and less good experiences. But I'm not here to talk about the others. This kind of transaction is basically based on trust. And I must say that I have rarely been as at ease as with the author of this post. Clear explanations, very reactive, polite, say hello (rare thing). I feel that there is a human being behind these messages, while some on the forums sometimes behave like robots or animals.

Now let's talk about quality and cost. As for the quality, I do not know for you but I do not have to complain. The work is well done.
But the flagship argument is mostly the cost. This is really cheap compared to others and very transparent.

In conclusion I reccommand the services of this gentleman.

Note: This is not discriminatory against other scanners and does not mean that they are doing bad work. (Some are very friendly and I have not met anyone who is incompetent). As I said it is an opinion based on various experiences.

I have already gotten 2 rare to find doujinshis scanned by you, and i like the work you did, worth the wait despite the setbacks that happened, however that out of your control, so i have no regrets.

I can only conclude that he is inactive, and he never replied to my PMs about this, nor to this comment. I'll update it if that ever changes.

I also have to say I stopped commissioning with him due to wait times measured in 6-18 months and the fact that he lost one of my books and commented along the lines of 'stuff happens'. I agree the quality of his scans is top notch (minus the annoying waterark which prevents TL of some credit pages), but I am sorry, the scanning time and communication problems are too much for me. If those issues don't matter to you, then of course go ahead.

Hands-down one of the best scanners around, definitely worth the wait; files I got for my latest commission were among the cleanest raws I got. Will deal with them again any time!
