QUOTE(sickentide @ Dec 26 2017, 19:07) that part is how the unmodified hover system behaves on mobile: tapping a certain spot is read by the system as moving the cursor to that spot (and performing a click), thus triggering the onmouseover response from the hover script, engaging hover. tapping somewhere else moves the cursor again, triggering onmouseout, disengaging hover. it's essentially a somewhat clunky way of hovering with a mouse cursor
yes, but i meant... we're speaking about tapping and *keeping* tapped, right?

no, that would bring up the context menu. think of it as moving your mouse over a monster, letting go of the mouse and grabbing it again when you want to do something else

I was thinking of some extension or script, not of rewriting the browser, lol (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'm looking for a volunteer or two to help me test the new Percentile Ranges script. Example: (IMG:[ reasoningtheory.net] https://reasoningtheory.net/progress2.png) All you really have to do is click on equips and tell me when you see any stats that look broken or are very different from what they should be. (the tedious part is that when an equip type isn't already cached, it takes some ~40 seconds to fetch the info, or more if a database transaction initiated by another user is already in progress) This new version uses live range data (for all stats) from Jenga's server, data which gets grabbed by my server and dumped into an easily-accessible JSON for script-users to access. Please PM me. I'll make it public once it looks to be mostly bug-free, which shouldn't take too long. This post has been edited by Superlatanium: Dec 27 2017, 21:36

QUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Dec 17 2017, 02:30) -snip- I tried that script a bit. It looks promising and way better than a few others I've seen so far. But there's a major issue: it's hard to understand and not self-explanatory at all. Bonus point for the "show folder" button that doesn't give any indication regarding if somethign's happening or not before it shows the actual page. Aside from this, the script seems to work very well regarding what it's pretending to do for now. It's just lacking one vital thing: being able to perform searches on attachements and removed attachements. Go tiger! This post has been edited by decondelite: Dec 28 2017, 12:49

As you can see i'm not a great explanations guy (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) QUOTE(decondelite @ Dec 28 2017, 11:46) Aside from this, the script seems to work very well regarding what it's pretending to do for now. I think i'll add that at the same time i'll add storing of MMs, after all it will catch the same pages to check. Still, after i did this sssss2 came out with HV Utils, and that manages MMs really well too.

QUOTE(Superlatanium @ Dec 28 2017, 11:42) You mean how you get to the equipment page? Press c while mouse is over the equip div https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=211064it's also explained on wiki, btw: https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Equipment#Equipment_PopupsQUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Dec 28 2017, 11:56) As you can see i'm not a great explanations guy (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) I think i'll add that at the same time i'll add storing of MMs, after all it will catch the same pages to check. while this may not be an issue for smaller scripts that do only one thing, it may be in some other cases. some lines of comments in the code where you have to set options (if needed, like in Monsterbation) and/or some explanations in your release post are usually enough. something like "press here, click there" to explain the main features, not even the need to include dozens of images. this may really make the difference between a promising-yet-unknown, waiting-for-feedback script and a pretty solid one QUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Dec 28 2017, 11:56) Still, after i did this sssss2 came out with HV Utils, and that manages MMs really well too.
somepony may not like comprehensive scripts and wanting specific features only. it's the reason because i'm including sub-scripts in compendium whenever appliable. just saying (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

QUOTE(gianfrix94 @ Dec 28 2017, 11:56) Still, after i did this sssss2 came out with HV Utils, and that manages MMs really well too. I tried it and I don't like it at all, even if it does work. I don't like how it overloads my pages, needs me to click on "Next" bazilions of times and how it's included in a package which we can't deactivate everything else. And I largely prefer independant scripts anyway, for the fields they're supposed to cover. One script to manage battles, one to manage my monsters, one to manage my inventory, one to manage my mooglemails. So I'll certainly prefer your solution that is already way more ergonomic than sssss's and won't overlay the other scripts I'm already using. I don't know how it is for everyone else, but I appreciate scripts that just do their job without overloading my HentaiVerse experience with their presence or functionalities that are doodads that create more issues than they solve. Unfortunately, many people forget that aspect when they release their scripts. In a general way, what makes an application successful is how it's been designed and packaged, not what it allows you to do. If you don't "think" your application to answer its user's (potentially implicit or way too obvious) needs before actually coding it, you're guaranteed to fail. If you're tossing tons of stuff in a box just for the sake of filling it to the brim and saying "hey! there's a lot of things inside!", don't expect people to be happy when they have to sort the socks from the jeans and t-shirts to then iron everything before placing in the cupboard. If you're placing fewer items inside, but neatly arranged, with a warranty, a user manual and offer customer support, all this for the same price, they'll be happy. That's one of the basics in marketing and customer satisfaction, and it applies just everywhere. I'm not saying that what I've just said should be taken to the letter of very seriously, mostly that when releasing a script one shouldn't think it's great just because they worked a lot on it. One's pride has no place in how others will judge your work. We'll, that's my two cents that comes from my professional training and experience. Keep up the good work, remain humble and it should be alright. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

One script to manage battles, one to manage my monsters, one to manage my inventory, one to manage my mooglemails. Yep. When two areas (functionality, active page, etc) share little overlap, it's generally easier to reason about, debug, and gives the user better options when they're separate rather than compiled together.
