Due to today's infamous date, evilesident's DVD reviews will not run on its regular schedule. That's why I reviewed "DOA" last week. This week is a 9/11 tribute, with reviews of two of 2006's best films.

United 93($14.99 for one disc, $30.99 for 2-disc Limited Edition shown below)-Starring JJ Johnson, David Alan Basche
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001785.jpg)
Well, leave it to Paul Greengrass(The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum, Bloody Sunday) to make one hell of a masterpiece. At first I got a little mad after I heard they were making a film on 9/11. But I REALLY really enjoyed "United 93". The 1-disc DVD has commentary, memorial pages, and a featurette called "United 93:The Families and the Film" where the actor meets the family of his/her character. The 2-disc has this too, but also has another featurette called "Chasing Planes-Witnesses to 9/11." However THE 2-DISC IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET. YOU CANNOT BUY THE 2-DISC IN ANY STORE. Some of you though, like myself, might have got a free copy of "United 93"(1-disc) from a victim's family. I got mine from from Todd Beamer's father, David Beamer. This is destined to become a milestone in movie history. The verdict:1-disc: ***** out of *****. 2-disc:***** out of *****.

World Trade Center($14.99 for one disc, $21.99 for 2-disc Commemorative Edition)-Starring Nicholas Cage, Michael Pena, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001541.jpg)
This is the other 9/11 film of '06, directed by Oliver Stone(Platoon, JFK). I would've given this film ***** like "United 93", but I won't. The only reason for that is because "United 93" didn't have big name stars. That proved they weren't just trying to make a quick buck. I'm not saying "WTC" tryed to do that but they got too many big stars. This is still an excellent film overall. The 1-disc has deleted scenes, commentary, featurettes, and interviews. The 2-disc has this too, but also has a featurette about the recreation of Ground Zero for the film and a documentary. Get the 2-disc. The verdict:1-disc:****1/2 out of *****. 2-disc:****1/2 out of *****.

Well I'll be back on schedule next week, with reviews of "Death Proof", "Lucky You", "The Condemned", "Gracie", and "We Are Marshall".

Here's No. 6, but NOTE: due to the fact "Death Proof" was combined with "Planet Terror" as "Grindhouse", I WILL NOT BE REVIEWING IT UNTIL "PLANET TERROR" IS RELEASED ON OCT. 16. That'll teach em to fuck with a great movie. Anyways enough chatter.

Lucky You($19.99)-Starring Eric Bana, Drew Barrymore, Robert Duvall
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000828.jpg)
Remember this movie? I sure didn't, because "Spider-Man 3" was too busy killing the box office. This was a sports dram about high stakes poker. It's alright, but don't go all in on betting this film is really good. The DVD has deleted scenes so that's a bust. I'll fold. The verdict:** out of *****.

The Condemned($19.99)-Starring Stone Cold Steve Austin, Vinnie Jones
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002429.jpg)
Ten prisoners stuck on an island. 9 of them will die. Among the ten is good ol' Stve Austin from WWE. This ultra violent action film was killed by critics but most of the everyday people like you and me found it to be somewhat good. The DVD has 2 commentaries, 2 featurettes, one of which has five parts, the trailer, and storyboard sequences. It's worth a look. It's not that bad. The verdict:*** out of *****.

Gracie($19.99)-Starring Carly Schroeder, Andrew Shue, Elisabeth Shue
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001798.jpg)
If you like sports dramas this is a good one. Most of you didn't pay attention to it. The story of a girl trying to make it on an all boys team after her brother, who played on that team, dies. It's got some good moments, but it isn't no "We Are Marshall"(see below). The DVD has 2 commentaries, a featurette, and the trailer. Check it out, after "Marshall". The verdict:***1/2 out of *****.

We Are Marshall($19.99)-starring Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Fox, Anthony Mackie
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000970.jpg)
Here is a really good sports film. This true story about the Marshall football team trying to recover after 75 of their players and staff died in a plane crash was pure greatness. The DVD has a documentary and the trailer. Add this to the list of great sports films based on true stories. The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is......"We Are Marshall", with a near perfect score of ****1/2.

Next week I shall return with reviews of "Knocked Up", "Next", "Bug", and "Evening". Sorry again about "Death Proof". I'm not the douche who decided to release "Grindhouse" seperately. Oh and "Transformers" got booted up to being released on October 16, alongside "Planet Terror".

Here's lucky No. 7.

Knocked Up($19.99 for 1-disc, $22.99 for 2-disc)-Starring Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002106.jpg)
If you didn't at least give one little giggle on this film you got problems. This is from those guys that brought you "40-Year-Old Virgin", "Talladega Nights", and the more recent "Superbad". The DVD is "Unrated and Unprotected" and has commentary, deleted scenes and extended scenes, and more. There is also a 2-disc Collector's Edition which has all the stuff the 1-disc has, but it also has 14 extra featurettes. Pure gutbusting comedy on a funny subject, plain and simple. The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

Next($19.99)-Starring Nicholas Cage, Jessical Biel, Julianne Moore
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000937.jpg)
Once again, Cage delivers us another pile of pish posh. Like "The Wicker Man" this movie sucks, but "Next" is slightly better. Too bad Cage hasn't had a good film in a while. He used to be a great actor. The DVD has 4 featurettes. If I looked 2 minutes into the future, I'd still see no "Next" DVDs sold. The verdict:*1/2 out of *****.

Bug($19.99)-Starring Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon, Harry Connick Jr.
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001719.jpg)
This film from the director of "The Exorcist" had just enough creeps to be pretty good. Shannon plays one CRAZY person. It also just has this "feeling" like "Exorcist", but not as much. The DVD has commentary and 2 featurettes. The DVD may not have much, but this is a pretty good movie. The verdict:**** out of *****.

Evening($19.99)-Starring Vanessa Redgrave, Toni Collette, Meryl Streep
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002160.jpg)
This is a film about a woman who fell in love with a man 50 years ago. Well isn't that rare. It's like a mediocre version of "The Notebook". The DVD has got deleted scenes and also 2 featurettes. It's a so-so experience, nothing to spend an evening for. THe verdict:**1/2 out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is......"Knocked Up", with a near perfect score of ****1/2.

Next week I will return with reviews of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and "1408".

Round 8, short and sweet. Plus this week's films bothe have been Special Edition-ized:

Fantastic Four:Rise of the Silver Surfer($19.99 for 1-disc, $22.99 for 2-disc)-Starring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, and Laurence Fishburne as the voice of the Silver Surfer
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001794.jpg)
The first "Fantastic" sucked. Now the Fantastic Four are back, and they're kiddier, as they took a PG rating. But something made this film better:The Silver Surfer, a CGI masterpiece. The DVD is available in a single disc with 2 sides. It has just 3 commentaries. But there's a 2-Disc Special Edition which has all of the above, BUT ALOS HAS deleted scenes, a behind the scenes, 2 featurettes, and more. A little better than the first one. The verdict:1-disc:*** out of *****. 2-disc:***1/2 out of *****.

1408($19.99 for 1-disc, $22.99 for 2-disc)-Starring John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001804.jpg)
I'm not really into his books but 'Misery" , "The Green Mile", "Carrie", and "The Shining"(Jack Nicholson version) were the only great films based off a Stephen King book. Then "1408" came along. Add this one to the four above. I really enjoyed this creepfest starring Cusack as an author who debunks supernatural activities and he doesn't believe in ghosts, until he enters room 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel which is managed by Gerald Olin(Jackson). The 1-disc is nothing special, but the 2-disc Collector's Edition has deleted scenes including alternate endings, commentary, a behind-the-scenes, and 2 featurettes. It's an hour and 46 minutes of pure creeps. The verdict:1-disc:**** out of *****. 2-disc:****1/2 out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is......"1408" with a near perfect score of ****1/2(2-disc).

Next week I'll be back with reviews of "Surf's Up"(hey, I have to. It's my job), "28 Weeks Later" and a re-review of "28 Days Later", Evan Almighty, and "Reign Over Me". Here's another two future release dates, next year:

Okay, I had enough time to put up the posters. And I'm still cutting off "Surf's Up".

"28 Weeks Later"($19.99)-Starring Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001167.jpg)
Has deleted scenes, 2 commentaries, a making-of, 2 featurettes, the trailer, and the "28 Days Later:The Aftermath" graphic novel.
The verdict:**** out of *****.

"28 Days Later"($9.99)-Starring Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Brendan Gleeson
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000153.jpg)
Has 3 alternate endings, commentary, a behind-the-scenes, deleted scenes, a music video, 2 trailers, and galleries.
The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

Evan Almighty($19.99)-Starring Steve Carell, Morgan Freeman
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001106.jpg)
Has deleted scenes, 10 featurettes, outtakes, and some kid's game.
The verdict:** out of *****.

Reign Over Me($19.99)-Starring Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle, Saffron Burrows
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001916.jpg)
Has a making-of and an extended jam session with Sandler and Cheadle.
The verdict:***1/2 out of *****.
Maybe my problem will be fixed by next week, when I'm back with reviews of "The Invisible", "The Reaping", "Transformers", and "Grindhouse"("Planet Terror" and "Death Proof").

Ten weeks! Jolly good!

The Invisible($19.99)-Starring Justin Chatwin, Margarita Levieva, Marcia Gay Harden
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001472.jpg)
This creepy mystery was alright. I mean the story about a murdered teen who isn't completely dead yet is good and this wasn't too bad. The DVD has commentaries, deleted scenes, and a music video. No major fun, but worth a rental when you have time. The verdict:*** out of *****.

The Reaping($19.99)-Starring Hilary Swank, AnnaSophia Robb, David Morrissey
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000968.jpg)
Horror movies are starting to kill Academy Award winners. Like "The Wicker Man" which ruined 2 Oscar winners. And to put God in this mess too. The DVD has 4 featurettes. Not worth even seeing for free. The verdict:* out of *****.

Transformers($19.99)-Starring Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and Peter Cullen(voice)
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000897.jpg)
This was THE hottest movie of the summer. And available on 2-disc and HD-DVD!!!! I didn't like the toys but i loved this movie. The extras include commentary, featurettes, trailers, and easter eggs. A visual feast for the eyes. Could've been a little shorter though. The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

Grindhouse($19.99 each)

(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001060.jpg)

Planet Terror-Starring Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Josh Brolin, Marley Shelton, Bruce Willis
This is an AWESOME film by director Robert Rodriugez. It was so violent and gory and so much fun. The DVD is 2-disc and is Unrated and Extended with extras like the faux trailers, commentary, and real trailers. The best part of "Grindhouse". The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

Death Proof-Starring Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan, Zoe Bell, Tracie Thoms
This was the more blah part of"Grindhouse", even if directed by Tarantino. It was mostly talking. The DVD is available like "Planet Terror" and has trailers, featurettes, and more. Still good. The verdict:**** out of *****.

The DVDs of the Week are...... "Transformers" and "Planet Terror" with a near perfect score of ****1/2.

Next week I'll be back with reviews of "Mr. Brooks" and "The Hoax".

Week No.11 ladies and gents.

Mr. Brooks($19.99)-Starring Kevin Costner, William Hurt, Demi Moore, Dane Cook
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001809.jpg)
Want to be a successful businessman while also being a serial killer. Well take some pointers from Mr. Brooks, cause that's what he does for a living, though no one knows about the second. The DVD of this thriller has deleted scenes, commentary, a behind-the-scenes, a featurette, music videos, and more. Good ol' creepy Mr. Brooks. The verdict:**** out of *****.

Hostel: Part II($19.99)-Starring Lauren German, Roger Bart, Bijou Phillips, Jay Hernandez
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002157.jpg)
Aside from the first few minutes, this frightfest sucked. It was just the same old thing as what the first Hostel did back in '05. The DVD is Unrated and has deleted scenes, commentary, a behind-the-scenes, 3 featurettes, and more. Not so Hostel, but but horrible. The verdict:*1/2 out of *****.

Bet you didn't expect that did ya? Thought I was gonna review "The Hoax", but I switched it with Hostel.

The DVD of the Week is......"Mr. Brooks", with a great score of ****.

Next week I'm back with reviews of "Spider-Man 3", "License to Wed", "Captivity", and more. Here's another future realease dat:

Week 12:

Spider-Man 3($19.99 for single, $22.99 for 2-disc)-Starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Thomas Haden Church, Topher Grace
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000877.jpg)
The third entry in Spidey's box office blockbusters is the worst of the three so far. Sure it has 3 villains(Venom, Sandman, and the New Goblin) and that black suit kicked ass, but some people in this film cannot act. The single disc DVD has outtakes, commentary, a music video, and photo galleries. The 2-disc has this AND 9 featurettes. The not so super Spider-Man entry, but it's worth a once over. The verdict:***1/2 out of *****.

License to Wed($19.99)-Starring Robin Williams, Mandy Moore, John Krasinski
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002140.jpg)
The great Robin Williams just can't get a major role in a good movie. This isn't one of those roles. "License to Wed" was not so hot at all. The DVD has deleted scenes, commentary, and some Ask Choir Boy featurette. If not for Williams, this movie wouldn't have even gotten off the ground, which it does just briefly with Williams. The verdict:*1/2 out of *****.

Captivity($19.99)-Starring Elisha Cuthbert
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/003671.jpg)
I don't know what pinheads thought this movie was good. It's not, even in the least. This kidnap story might've had a little more life, had it waited for this year's Horrorfest 2007. The DVD has deleted scenes, a making-of, and a featurette. Not worth it, AT ALL. The verdict:0 out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is...... "Spider-Man 3" with a pretty good score of ***1/2.

Next week I'll be back with "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry", "Sicko", and "Deck the Halls".

Since I had a virus on my computer a couple weeks ago, I couldn't do the week last week's DVD releases. I'm only reviewing one this week, so I'll add the week before's movies. Here's Weeks 13 and 14:

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry($19.99)-Starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Jessical Biel
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002142.jpg)
Adam Sandler is a funny as hell actor, but this 1 hr. 50 min. gay joke gets old after this first 40 minutes. I was going to fall asleep, but my job doesn't include sleeping. The DVD has commentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, and 5 featurettes. Interesting subject, bad deliverance. The verdict:** out of *****.

Sicko($19.99)-Starring Michael Moore
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/003525.jpg)
I don't like Michael Moore, but anyone who makes fun of a babbling jackass like George W. is a friend of mine. This documentary isn't about W., but is about the healthcare system. It's still quite well done. The verdict:**** out of *****.

Fuck "Deck the Halls". I gave that * out of *****.

Now the new stuff:

Ocean's Thirteen($19.99)-Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Ellen Barkin, and Al Pacino
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002034.jpg)
This is the first "Ocean's" I've seen. After seeing this I think I should go see the other two. This movie had done things right, and it mixed comedy with crime. Big thumbs up to that. The DVD has a documentary and a featurette. The end to a good trilogy. The verdict:**** out of *****.

That's it for now. I'll be back next week with reviews of "Rescue Dawn", "Hairspray", and the second greatest blockbuster of the year(next to "Transformers"), "Live Free or Die Hard".

Too bad you don't work at blockbuster like I do, you could get your new releases a week or two early. Also you failed to review the biggest release of the week Shrek the Third.

QUOTE(bladejtr @ Nov 13 2007, 11:49) *

Too bad you don't work at blockbuster like I do, you could get your new releases a week or two early. Also you failed to review the biggest release of the week Shrek the Third.

Oops, sorry about that.

Shrek The Third($19.99)-Starring the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Justin Timberlake, and Eric Idle
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000556.jpg)
The third entry in the animated fairy tale spoof series isn't "Shrek 2", but it isn't "Spider-Man 3". The new characters in this entry include, Artie(Timberlake), Merlin(Idle), and the three Shrek babies. The DVD is packed with goods, including commentary, deleted scenes, interactive bits, and more. It's for the kiddies, but it's got some fun gross-out moments. Hopefully it will follow the footsteps of the "Die Hard" series, with the fourth "Shrek"(due out in 2010) being another good entry. The verdict:**** out of *****.

And as for employment, I used to work at Blockbuster, but for the past 4 weeks I've been working at the AMC Independence Commons 20 theater. It's not bad. And I can sneak in movies without getting caught. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

This week I'm gonna "Die Hard", but first 3 others.

Rescue Dawn($19.99)-Starring Christian Bale, Steve Zahn, Marshall Bell
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001537.jpg)
Another reason people aren't seeing the great movies: "Rescue Dawn". Jeez, it even has Christian Bale, the "Batman". Oh well, here's your second chance to see this true-story war drama. The DVD has commentary, deleted scenes, a making-of, and trailers. This is a good war film, so after "Live Free or Die Hard", go see it!!!! The verdict:**** out of *****.

Santa Clause 3:The Escape Clause($19.99)-Starring Tim Allen, Martin Short, Judge Reinhold
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000685.jpg)
I didn't hate the first, the second was so-so, and now the third is under the influence of "Spider-Man 3" syndrome, meaning it's the worst of them all. The story's pretty much Santa Claus vs. Jack Frost, but whoop-de-do!!! The DVD has deleted scenes, an alternate opening, commentary, bloopers, 3 featurettes, and a music video. Just give it to someone in your family who is under age 6. Or give it to that evil neighbor. The verdict:*1/2 out of *****.

Hairspray($19.99 for single, $22.99 for 2-disc)-Starring, John Travolta, Nicole Blonsky, Christopher Walken, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah, Amanda Bynes
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001070.jpg)
The John Waters hit has hit the big screen, again. But this has enough kick to make you want to dance along with the A-list cast. The single disc version has trailers, but the 2-disc "Shake & Shimmy" edition is packed, with deleted scenes, optional commentary for the deleted, 4 featurettes, commentary, and more. The only reason I wouldn't give this five stars is befcause John Travolta dresses like a woman. Nightmares..... The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

And now the moment you've(or at least I have) been waiting for!

Live Free or Die Hard($19.99 for single, $22.99 for 2-disc)-Starring Bruce Willis, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant, Maggie Q, Mary Elizabeth Winstead
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000880.jpg)
At last, John McClane is here!!!! The final piece of the "Die Hard" family and it's packed with both aaction and hilarious. The only "Die Hard" better than this one is the original classic. "Live Free" sports a good supproting cast, including Mr. "Soon to be Hitman" Timothy Olyphant as bad bod Thomas Gabriel, Maggie Q as his crazy girlfriend Mai, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as John's daughter Lucy, and even Kevin Smith as hacker Warlock. The DVD is Unrated(the version they should've shown. PG-13 pussies!!!!). The single-disc has commentary, the music video of the "Die Hard" song by GuyzNite, a behind-the-scenes, and trailers. The 2-disc has this AND a 10-part making-of and a featurtte titled with McClane's catchphrase. Since this is the end, let's all join in and give out a final YIPPEE-KI-YAY, MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!! Sorry, I had tht built up for like 4 1/2 months. The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

The DVDs of the Week are......"Live Free or Die Hard" and "Hairspray", with a near perfect score of ****1/2.

Next week is a DVD blowout!!!!! Seven new films(8 including that piss-ant "Bratz", which I'm not even going to bother with) are coming to store shelves, so I'm cutting it into 2 days. On Tuesday, I'll review "Skinwalkers", "I Know Who Killed Me", and "Who's Your Caddy?". On Wednesday I'll review "Mr. Bean's Holiday", "Hot Rod", "The Namesake", and "Waitress". Here's a couple future releases:

Rush Hour 3-December 26
War, Shoot 'Em Up, and 3:10 to Yuma-January 1

Good day.

Here's part 1 of week 16's blowout of reviews, dubbed "The Bad, the Ugly, and the 'I Know Who Killed Me'".

I Know Who Killed Me($19.99)-Starring Lindsay Lohan
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/003860.jpg)
First there was "Pathfinder". Then there was "Captivity". But now this movie is THE WORST movie I will review, unless the next three below are an worse. The plot was stupid, Drug LAdy had the starring role, argh just everything. The DVD has an alternate opening and ending, a blooper reel(Really? I thought the whole movie was just one big blooper. Zing!!!!), and an extended strip dance sequence. Don't even think about this movie. But it makes good clay pigeons!! Pull! The verdict:0 out of *****.

Who's Your Caddy?($19.99)-Starring Big Boi, Jeffrey Jones, Faizon Love, Andy Milonakis
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001817.jpg)
Here we go again. ANOTHER bad sports comedy. This is like the poor man's Caddyshack. I don't even want to go into detail. At least it's better than "I Know Who Killed Me". The verdict:* out of *****.

Skinwalkers($19.99)-Starring Jason Behr, Shawn Roberts, Natassia Malthe, Matthew Knight
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001467.jpg)
Werewolves vs. werewolves? Hmmmm......not a bad idea, but it doesn't work here. There are a few good effects, but this action/horror doesn't fit the bill. The DVD has commentary, a making-of, and a special effects featurette. This is the least worst of the worst. The verdict:*1/2 out of *****.

Oh shit. Maybe this isn't a good idea. But I AM a critic. I have to do it for the people. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm reviewing, dare I speak it, "Bratz"!! God save my soul!!!!

Bratz($19.99)-Starring a bunch of teen girls and Jon Voight
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002773.jpg)
It took a lot of guts for me to even pop this thing in my PS2(yep, I review DVDs from my PS2. Richie Riches). after seeing this, I wwanted to take a poon and gouge my eyes out, then torch my head. The "thing" has commentary, deleted scenes, 12 featurettes, and 2 music videos. I guess there is a worse movie than "I Know Who Killed Me". The verdict:0 out of *****.

Blech!!! Thank God I got that taste of "Bad" DVDs out of my mouth. But things will be a lot sweeter tomorrow, in the conclusion of week 16's reviews:"The Good and the Brilliant", featuring "Hot Rod", "Mr. Bean's Holiday", and "Waitress". I also have a DVD review that's a special edition of one of the year's hottest films. Can you guess what it is? Find out tomorrow, "pistakers".

And now part II of my week 16 reviews. These reviews are called "The Good and the Brilliant", meaning that the film's verdict got *** or more. No 0s here!!! Alright, let's rock this bitch.

Mr. Bean's Holiday($19.99)-Starring Rowan Atkinson, Willem Dafoe
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001090.jpg)
The Bean is back, and now he's terrorizing Europe. There's just something funny about watching a person act like a goddamn retard. But what I don't get about this is that the previous film, 1997's Bean was rated PG-13. This one's rated G. The DVD has deleted scenes and 3 featurettes. I'm not really recommending it, but it's about a month till X-Mas, so if you have someone in your family under age 7, they'd probably like this. The verdict:*** out of *****.

Hot Rod($19.99)-Starring Andy Samberg, Isla Fisher, Ian McShane, Will Arnett
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/002337.jpg)
Man this guy sucks at being a stuntman, but he's pretty good at making laughs with his idiotic wipeouts. The film wasn't well recieved by you people, so here's the second chance. The DVD has commentary, deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes, bloopers, and more. The DVD's good and so is the movie, unlike Rod Kimble's stunt career. The verdict:**** out of *****.

Waitress($19.99)-Starring Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, Jeremy Sisto, Cheryl Hines
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000950.jpg)
This scrumptious comedy was directed by the late Adrienne Shelly, who was murdered during this film. But she made an grade-A film. The DVD has commentary, a behind-the-scenes, 6 featurettes, and a documentary in the memory of Shelly. You did good mam, you did real good. The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

Were you able to guess the special review? Some of you might have gotten the clue when I said it was one of the "hottest" movies of the year. Or you could've gotten it when I said "pistaker", which is what Sergeant Nicholas Angel called Peter Ian Staker. The special review is........."Hot Fuzz: 3-Disc Edition"! Behold!

Hot Fuzz 3-Disc Edition($23.99)-Starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Timothy Dalton, Jim Broadbent
(IMG:[www.dvdvideoplanet.com] http://www.dvdvideoplanet.com/images/Hot-Fuzz-Click.jpg)
The fuzz is back!!! Sure, the UK got a 2-disc Special Edition, but we get the 3-Disc Collector's Edition. Hot Fuzz junkies will surely want this on their Christmas lists. And as for you people who already bought the DVD, I guess you'll have to make a choice. Let me help you decide. The DVDs have 8 commentaries, 14 featurettes, photo galleries, video blogs, deleted scenes, and much more. Sheer A+ work!! The verdict:***** out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is......"Hot Fuzz 3-Disc Collector's Edition" with a perfect score of *****.

I'll need some time to rest, but I'll be back next week with reviews of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", "Superbad", and "The Nanny Diaries".

Week 17, come on down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End($19.99-1-disc, $22.99-2-disc)-Starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Geoffrey Rush
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000808.jpg)
The third and final "Pirates" ranks as second best of the triolgy, both entertainment wise AND box office wise($960,000,000 worldwide). This one features the return of Barbossa who was seen at the end of "Dead Man's Chest" but also has some new guys, including Chow Yun-Fat(Inspector Tequila!!) as Captain Sao Feng. The effects are still top notch, but it just doesn't have that feel that "The Curse of the Black Pearl" gave. The DVD is available in a single disc, which has commentary and bloopers. There's also a 2-Disc Edition that is available for a limited time only. It has the single disc's extras AND 3 featurettes and a short film dubbed "Tales of the Code: Wedlocked". It may not be the best "Pirates", but it works. The verdict:***1/2 out of *****.

Superbad($19.99-1-disc, $22.99-2-disc)-Starring Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/003025.jpg)
June's "Knocked Up" was a fantastic piece. Now the same guys bring you "Superbad" which is almost as good. And by almost I'm talking centimeters here. It also brought one of THE funniest characters I've seen in a LONG time:McLovin!!!!! That kid(Mintz-Plasse) and his escapades with the two cops(Rogen and Hader) were what really made this movie rock! The DVD is available in an extended Unrated cut and it has commentary, deleted scenes, 4 featurettes, a making-of, and a blooper reel. There's also a 2-Disc version and it has all of the single's stuff AND 5 more featurettes. Superbad=One badass, foul mouthed teenage comedy. The verdict:****1/2 out of *****.

The Nanny Diaries($19.99)-Starring Scarlett Johansson, Paul Giamatti, Chris Evans
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001894.jpg)
Ever have that time where you have to babysit a hell child? What about a being a nnany to a hell family? That's what Scarlett has to deal with in this comedy. But the movie was heading towards that direction as well. I got bored just seconds after the halfway point. The verdict:**1/2 out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is......"Superbad" with a near perfect score of ****1/2.

That's it for this week. Next week I'm back with reviews of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" and "The Bourne Ultimatum"

Due to the Midwest ice storm in Missouri and Kansas, there is a 50/50 chance I won't be reviewing this week's films. The roads are way too icy(20-25 accidents so far through the weekend) but there's a chance my Santa Fe can make it through this shitty weather. If I can't, sorry to all the people who actually take this thread into consideration. But I'll try tomorrow. It'll be later in the morning if so. But no promises.

HA HA! I got them. It may have taken me twice the time but I got to Blockbuster and got week 18's DVDs. Enjoy.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix($19.99-1-disc, $22.99-2-disc)-Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000878.jpg)
Wizard boy Potter is at it again in this 5th entry in the series of seven. It may be the shortest so far, at 2 hrs. and 18 min. but it still gets boring, especially while watching a 18-year-old play Potter. But the single disc DVD has nothing, so if you're looking for extras, don't bother. But the 2-disc Special Edition has more scenes, 2 featurettes, and the ability to edit a scene(oh my!). Not the best Potter film, but it's worth a rent, maybe a buy for you die hard Potter fans out there, unlike myself. The verdict:***1/2 out of *****.
Other Harry Potter film release dates: The Half-Blood Prince- November 21, 2008
The Deathly Hollows- Summer 2010

The Bourne Ultimatum($19.99)-Starring Matt Damon, Joan Allen, David Strathairn
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000998.jpg)
Three words describe my thoughts on this movie:BRING BOURNE HOME. This rivals my friend "Live Free or Die Hard" for Best Summer Action Blockbuster. The action was so brilliant and Matt didn't do that bad of a performance. But you'd expect that from directors Paul Greengrass(The Bourne Supremacy, United 93) and Peter MacDonald(Rambo III). The DVD has deleted scenes, commentary, and 4 featurettes. It's an action packed thrill ride that you MUST buy. No renting, just buy it! The verdict:***** out of *****.

The DVD of the Week is......"The Bourne Ultimatum" with a perfect score of *****.

Alright, I'll be back next week with reviews of "The Simpsons Movie", "Underdog"(maybe), "Stardust", and Rob Zombie's "Halloween". Here's a couple more future release dates.

Resident Evil: Extinction(yay!!!!!)-January 1
Dragon Wars(you might want to tune in on this one, T-Dragonus)-January 8
Saw IV-January 22

Watch Stardust last, it'll make up for any of the others that are crappy. Also, not getting Balls of Fury?

Hmmm..... I could've sworn I put "Fury" up there. Well that's what I get for having to drive through ice. And "Stardust" last. Okay. I take it you must like it. But I think "Halloween" deserves the finale. Plus I think I already know the alternate ending. You can find on Youtube out there somewhere.

Sorry about the delay. Family emergency: little brother lost to a sewing machine in his home ec. eariler. Had to be stuck at the hospital for a while. Anyways, it it time for week 19. Come on dowwwwwwwwwwwwwn.

Balls of Fury($19.99)-Starring Dan Fogler, George Lopez, Christopher Walken, Thomas Lennon, Maggie Q
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001301.jpg)
The sport of ping pong gets screwed in this mediocre comedy from the guys who brought you "Reno 911!" which is more satisfying. The highest point that keeps this movie away from **1/2 is the excellent cast including Christopher Walken(looking badass with that ponytail), comedian George Lopez, and Thomas Lennon, Lt. Jim Dangle from "Reno", who serves up some grade-A laughs as a German ping pong player and Fogler's character's rival. There's also some cool supporting actors/actresses including Aisha, Diedrich Bader, Terry Crews, and Patton Oswalt. The DVD has an alternate ending, a making of, deleted scenes, and 1 featurette. It serves up a few good laughs but not worth 20 shells. It's better as a $3.99 rental from your local video store. The verdict:*** out of *****.

Underdog($19.99)-Starring Peter Dinklage, Jim Belushi, and Jason Lee as the voice of Underdog
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001495.jpg)
Leave it to one bad apple to spoil the bunch. Underdog id that one apple. This movie made me want to make it fly......into a vat of sulfuric acid. Everything sucked about Underdog. The DVD has deleted scenes, bloopers, 1 featurette, a music video, and one of the original cartoon episodes. I feel bad for Jason Lee, who's also doing bad in that "Alvin & the Chipmunks" trash. The verdict:* out of *****.

The Simpsons Movie($19.99)-Starring the voices of Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000680.jpg)
The hit TV series exploded onto the screen this summer and I'm proud to say it was pretty good. All your favorite Spirngfield citizens are here, along with cameos from Green Day and Tom Hanks. The only major letdown was that the plot was a little hazy. The DVD has commentary, deleted scenes, and 5 trailers. Grab a Sqiushee and invite Spider-Pig, cause you're in for a treat. The verdict:**** out of *****.

Stardust($19.99)-Starring Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/001805.jpg)
I was skeptical about this and I passed it by when at the theater. But thanks to blade's recommendation, I've got second thoughts. What drove this fantasy towards a positive note was the effects. It also had a mix of humor, action, and fantasy. The DVD has deleted scenes, bloopers, a making of, and the theatrical trailer. Catch this star. The verdict:**** out of *****.

Halloween($19.99)-Starring Tyler Mane, Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor-Compton, Danielle Harris, Brad Dourif, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Daeg Faerch
(IMG:[www.aceshowbiz.com] http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/poster/small/000834.jpg)
Horror movie remakes have sucked recently, but Rob Zombie redeems the category with this great remake of the 1978 John Carpenter classic, "Halloween". What makes this better than the original is a longer version of young Michael, played brilliantly by Daeg Faerch. Also the ending proves there will be no sequel(thank God). My only problem was that the movie didn't have that vibe the original did. Hated the remade version of the infamous theme song. The DVD is available in an Unrated Director's Cut and has deleted scenes, commentary, and an alternate ending, which isn't as good as the theatrical ending. Spend your Christmas watching this creepy thriller by Mr. Rob Zombie. The verdict:**** out of *****.

The DVDs of the Week are......"The Simpsons Movie", "Stardust", and "Halloween", all with a great score of ****.

That's it for a while folks. I'm going to be gone most of next week, as my family and I are flying out of state to spend X-mas with my older brother. I'm also not reviewing on New Year's Day(holiday), but I'll be back the following day with reviews of "Resident Evil: Extinction"(yes!!!!!!!!!!), "War", "Shoot 'Em Up", and the films released during my vacation:"Rush Hour 3", "The Kingdom", "Eastern Promises", "The Heartbreak Kid", and "The Brothers Solomon". It's gonna be a big one. Happy Holidays, my readers.
