The reasons these people give for this phenomenon are Many! and all for the WRONG reasons!
Many HIV negative gay Men believe they are in some sort of "Minority" becuase so many of their gay male freinds are HIV Positive. These men feel "cheated out" becuase they still have to use protection to touch another Man sexually in order to remain negative,and a lot of poz men do not. These men seek out Poz men to be "Gifted" with AIDS so they can be like the "Majority" of gay men who they think ARE a "Majority" becuase they already have AIDS.
The Gift Giver is just as bad,these are POZ Men,who seek out Bug Chasers,and "Gift Them" with HIV Disease. These Gift Givers get OFF on a Power-trip of "pozzing" men who ask for it.
Unaware that at least in the United States IF YOU POZ a Man...YOU are Liable Legally! And in some States Gay/Straight Men who have knowingly Pozzed other Men(women) have been prosecuted and imprisoned for their irresponsible actions concerning their Illness.
Seroconversion or "Pozzing Parties" are not only a SICK Twisted Idea,they are also Illegal in the United States as well! As a man who has had AIDS for amost thirty years I can tell ANY "Bug Chaser" Or attendee at a Pozzing Party that he/she is Fuckin NUTS if they think living with AIDS is better than being HIV Negative.
As for the film? I have NO interest in seeing such garbage! Films like that are the LAST THING we need going to national Theaters. The last group of young(18-22) year old boys I spoke with also have the wrong Idea about AIDS as they said: "Ohh If I get AIDS I'll just take me Meds and I'll be FINE" So? you twinkies think living with AIDS is that easy? well THINK IT OVER!
