I am going to make a few uneducated guesses about effects from the update:

1) Prices of ethereals may drop due to lower demand. Maybe.

2) Probably won't be a significant change to material prices. Those in demand are already expensive anyway.

3) Fewer camped items in bazaar. With the Riddlemaster becoming a Brony, those clueless players who never visit the forums will be forced to check out what's going on and how to solve the riddle, especially those unfamiliar with MLP. These would be the guys who bazaar artifacts, materials and godly mana potions because they have no clue of their uses or values. All this may change once they discover the forums.

4) Exodus of the Me-No-Englishes. Before this patch, they can manage to play the game with a few dictionaries. But this will be much harder with the Brony Riddlemaster.

the new "riddles" are a bit disturbing.
Im sure the pony lovers are very excited but dont you think this is a little unfair?
its not like tenborro chose to use universal symbols like the mcdonalds M or the mickey mouse ears.
These are specific characters from a specific show not everyone watches.
I like touhou alot but I wouldnt punish others for not sharing my interest in it.
At least he provided a chart for comparisons but its still a little unfair.
honestly if he really wanted to put a pony in it he should have only put one or two among a bunch of other well known objects.

Upgrading any stat for a piece of equipment will now also increase its level by 1.
Is this an Item World-style level up, in that all stats get buffed?
Or are we getting penalized by having the item level rise, thereby increasing the spread between what I could get, and what I do get?

If it's the latter, I foresee all upgrades except the hard ones (damage, mitigation) going into the dustbin of history.

Upsidedown Pony riddles are god-awful. Otherwise, I'm fine with this patch.

You don't need be a fine connoisseur of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to answer the new mazes, you just need to be able to identify basic shapes and associate names to each one.
Frankly I don't see what the drama is all about.

1. The eth stat is permanent. All the Voidseeker's Blessing will do is give you perfect accuracy. With a eth Scythe and Voidseeker you got a uber grinding tool or something that can take on DwD on IWBTH/BT. (Depending on if you only used one Voidseeker or not.)

How hard is it to memorize the shape of six goddamn ponies and their associated name? It takes you like a minute to memorize every girl with jiggly tits in some random awful anime, this shouldn't take more than five. It can't possibly be fucking harder than the godawful mazes. There's even a fucking chart right there for you to fucking click and look at like a goddamn cheat sheet. Jesus Titty-fucking Christ.

The Riddlemaster has come up with another way to test your mettle, and will now in addition to mazes use the new Picture-Oriented Ne'er-do-well Identification and Elimination System - or PONIES™ - to tell bots apart from normal players.

You know, to a non-English speaker, they would not even realise they are supposed to name the ponies. They see some english words, quickly enter them into their online translator with the clock ticking, and the translator doesn't even watch MLP! Even if they did see the link up there, they wouldn't know what it's for, as most links lead to ads.

Now, those who don't know a single word of English probably won't even play in the first place. But many of them would have a few years of basic English classes in school, and likely know the basics of RPG's, just enough to get by. The pony puzzle however, is something entirely different.
