0.6.5
Loot Generator improvements
The part of the loot generator that determines equipment type and class has been refined. Instead of doing a plain roll on fixed odds, there are now two separate rolls.
- The first roll determines type (one-handed, two-handed, staff, shield, etc..), while the second roll determines the newly introduced "tier" of equipment. While the odds for equipment type are still fixed (unless you use a trophy to set it), equipment tier is now affected by the difficulty setting. For example, on IWBTH the odds for getting tier 2 and tier 3 equipment is 5x higher than on normal.
Balancing Changes
- Random encounters now get the same drop chance bonuses as last arena rounds do.

Not enough bucklers for you? I guess I can fix that if you really want, but the loot distribution was indeed rebalanced to have an equal distribution of the various equipment options, with actual usable slots taken into account.
Soo, armor of each type now drops at a weight of 15, with two-handed, staff and shield having a weight of 3, and one-handed having a weight of 9 - the last one because it's used by two different classes with one usable slot for one and two for the other.
Without looking at the earlier revision of the code, I believe bucklers alone used to have a weight of 20, compared to for example 30 for cotton and 10 for gossamer. Which might possibly have been a bit on the high end.
@Tenboro
So now its 9/3/3/3/15/15/15 1H/2H/Staff/Shield/Cloth/Light/Heavy for equipment drops. Are the 15s for Cloth/Light/Heavy corresponding to the fact that there are 5 slots for each of them?
So lets say it rolls cloth, is the ratio for cloth normal 30/3/1 corresponding to what varst posted when he did a shrine dump. Does it now add up to 15?
Also going from normal to IWBTH the ratio for cloth should change from 30/3/1 to 14/15/5 right?
The old ratio of 30/10/1 wouldn't work with 5x t2 and t3 because t1 (cotton) would have to be negative, -14/50/5

I suddenly started getting Lesser Health/Mana pots since this patch... Did that "tier" change lower quality or something?
@Maximum_Joe It looks like the quality for normal mode has decreased
