Does anyone know (or have used) any wild looking font similar to the look of this? I'm most likely gonna end up using geekabyte and some others, but any suggestions would be helpful.

Maybe this one would look good with the capslock on

Would anyone here happen to know a good "robot/machine speak"-font?

Hey, so I know bugger all about fonts and it kinda shows in everything I've tried to put out thus far. My main problem's been that the Chinese scanlators I'm working from use a different font for the main girl than the rest of the cast (it seems like that's the case because in plenty of the later scenes, the speech bubbles don't have directional arrows or anything that'd let you know who's saying them, so the fonts are to help distinguish that), but while I just use AnimeAce for most characters, I'm still kinda at a loss as to whether I should be emulating the Chinese scanlators in using a separate font for the main girl, and if so, which font to use.

I got pretty negative feedback on my first attempt, but haven't head anything good or bad back about my latest. I ended up using Ladylike BB, all in caps to not clash with AnimeAce. I don't feel like I have the 'eye' for judging fonts at all, so is that decent enough? Is there a better font I should be using, if I should indeed be distinguishing characters with fonts in this way?

I've done this kind of thing alot, so let's see if I can help. If you want something kinda like this, try using fonts that are mostly even like Anime Ace, Wild Words, Digital Script, Zud Juice, CC Comic Crazy or lafayette Comic Pro (which I use as a more feminine voice in comparison to the others).

While i'm at it, does anyone around here design/make their own fonts? I tried fooling around with it over the past few days and all my attempts sucked with my lack of knowledge to Illustrator/fontlab

Thanks for the help, I ended up going with Laffayette Comic Pro as you suggested. It's definitely a less jarring font than my last efforts! I do wonder if it's distinguishable from AnimeAce at a casual glance though, so maybe it would've been better to just stick with one font for all characters. Ah, well.

Can anybody tell the font used in this pic?
I used the Chinacat font for proto-typesetting my first scanlation atm (with a so-so result), if only because it has both the capital and small caps.

Also, I uses Kristen TC for the sound effects, with mixed results.

Well this topic was very helpful for getting some new fonts. Once I'm finished typesetting my groups latest doujin I'm definitely going to stop over using anime ace.

[www.blambot.com] Free Font on Blambot today: Back Issues. Pretty nice, inoffensive comic book font.

Any suggestions on "body-writing" fonts? I.e. In stories where guys take permanent markers to write shitty things on a girl's back, legs, stomach, and so on; as in the context of bullying or shaming.

Or some "handwriting" font, in upper case.

Another good fonts website is DAFONT.

For body writing, I'd suggest [www.linotype.com] CC Shoutout. Looks like marker graffiti while being smooth without that rough brush look.
