Rob asked what the point of the thread was, perhaps in his own way, and got reported for trolling, not that that means anything. Still, having that drastic of a reaction was kind of douchey.

I would merely suggest that a lot of people are too thin-skinned to appreciate the responses you, Rob, cappy and company tend to give.

I gotta say I watched that whole thing and was just like...../popcorn.

Being thin skinned on the internet can be very counter productive.

Taking offense to something is a natural response, I used to do it whenever that asshat blackwater posted when I first came here.

After a while though, it became less of a problem for me. I stopped caring.

Trying to police one's social behavior on something as vast and ambiguous as the internet is like shouting at the tide because you're pissed that it's coming in.

If you need to control your surroundings and not see the comparative ugliness of someone else's view, I believe the internet is a poor medium in which to participate.

That being said you could just be having a shitty day and feel the need to go off your brain at something you find annoying.

But what makes it even more stupid is the constant flaming and bashing that tends to happen in it afterwards.
Basically telling them "You're fucking stupid" doesn't exactly encourage the poster to become more constructive, y'know. You're only making everything waaay more dramatic than it should be.
If someone posts a request thread in the chat section, just kindly point him to the fact he's in the wrong place, and he won't do it again in most cases. It's better than scaring the chap away.

And for christ's sake, if you don't like a thread, just ignore it instead of fucking bumping it up again all the time. That way, only threads that are worthy of living on will live on, not the other way around.

Lots of smileys, silly comments, meaningless threads, almost every new member is doing that. The only mature thing to do is:
kindly reply or correct their mistakes (and I don't mean sarcasm) or ignore them.

Welp, I actually read the whole thread in sip, that's gotta mean something.
Rules are important. More or less.(Rather less than more, but still withou-oh... sorry)
When this helps the new ones to ignore the rules a bit less(which I think it will, If only due to the catchy title), then it was definetly worth your time.

Pardon? I made my own thread for that. I didn't attack any others. I don't think I have ever dropped a single post in MLP General. So this, again, supports the fact that it's you guys who can't keep your paws off threads you don't like.
Also, I've learned 1 thing since that "hissy fit", and that's the fact that the hardcore MLP fans 'round here can't take a joke.
