Precisely. A pin would only catch the small handful of users who bother to read anything before they barge into a forum and start posting.

I have another idea. Why don't we help Dlaglacz by making a thread called "garbage threads". On this topic, everyone will post links of meaningless threads that spotted & Dlaglacz (or anyone else who's in charge) will have a quick look and remove them.
And if the lurker asks "why my thread is missing?", we're quoting 413's first post.
Quite difficult for lurkers to ignore this method :]

And what about that both fair and handsome button for "report"?

Very handy, but deprives us from sneering at the dumbness of lurkers (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I like Brain's idea, a report thread in here for missplaced or unecessary threads in the whole forum. 5 votes and it gets deleted. Sounds fair and fun, no?

You underestimate them. Not an awful idea, though. Maybe the report button is a better idea. I wonder whether all mods see eye-to-eye on the Useless Posts rule, though. "Useless Posts - Do not post messages in the forum that contribute nothing to the conversation. It's considered to be highly annoying to do so, so unless you have something to say, don't." I'm afraid this is highly subjective. Every person who posts a junk thread probably thinks they have something useful to say in it.

Very true, that's why the "garbage thread" is a better idea, with 5 votes there's proof that the thread is garbage, we can't stop useless posts, everyone has the right and freedom to express him or herself, just dont create a new thread for a single post and then disappear. that's why the "What's the last thing you thought" threads exist. Wait, so we weren't already doing this? QUOTE(Azraelgt @ Feb 10 2012, 18:58) that's why the "What's the last thing you thought" threads exist.
You're giving us way too much credit. I started the first LTYT thread for lulz and then Boggy spawned a bunch more for lulz and then some other people franchised them in forums we didn't frequent.

Perhaps... but their meaning has certainly evolved over time. Basically you could now describe them as big threads where any unimportant little post that doesn't really fit anywhere goes. In fact, I think a more accurate title for LTYT threads would be "Offtopic thread" or something...

So the LTYT threads were essentially your idea? I had always wondered who had started it but never got around to asking who got that ball rolling.

QUOTE(Azraelgt @ Feb 11 2012, 00:58) with 5 votes there's proof that the thread is garbage I have a problem with that idea. Leads to flame wars and faction creation. Why don't people learn to ignore what they don't personally like instead? You ignore it, you don't spend any time on it, everyone is happy.
