I'm not sure how bad it is now for higher level toons, but the spike damage at lower levels is ridiculous now. Monsters living longer obviously means more incoming damage, but the biggest part of that by far is from the skills they use, and now you have far more mobs using them because they're living longer. I started playing right before this patch and was doing fine on Heroic the whole time, noticed the ramp up in hp/damage and just thought it was part of leveling up, you can pretty frequently take damage spikes that exceed half of your health, and that is without mobs critting skills. Increased damage+increased mana cost=why?

Aside from that this patch looks like shit for any Melee, and especially 2h, that just started playing. Shade prices are going to skyrocket from the change and the fact that all grinding is slower and less rewarding now. What the change did was basically make every piece of old Shade worthless when compared to new Shade, so any new drops are going to be priced accordingly.

Tedium and slowness never make games fun. If you're trying to stop higher level players from doing too many rounds in different modes, make a patch that specifically targets them instead of a widespread buff that decreases the amount of fun everyone has.

Hmm, I was wondering why it took more mana potions to get to the trio... Man, overcharge just got a whole lot more worthless, now. 25% is mana use reduction is practically useless.

Is melee going to be made possible again in the next update? I seriously can't get anywhere. I can't even make it to 50 rounds in a grind or anything.

GF, CF and IW is too much trouble now. But Arenas are the same and RoB is much easier. So just don't grind. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Use IW then. It's easier than GF and it takes less stamina.

I noticed that you put the eth mace you bought a month or 2 ago for 1.7M up for sale. you must have found something or bought something better I assume.

You don't have to grind to level fast. Only when you want to get the next spell or buff at a certain level faster, grinding becomes an option.

HV uses floats for nearly everything and damage is doled by the decimals and truncated so that sort of thing isn't exactly abnormal.

That's true. Here's something odd, though: a few days ago on my char stats screen I reached 400.0 magic points, but the blue bar on the left only showed 399. When I reached 401.0 the bar showed 400.

As it seems the two values are rounded differently.

I don't understand how chainable skills works? (Only) When I use dual-wield, after I use the 1st tier skill, I am given 2nd tier skill for ~5 turns but I see no way to actually use it? My level and prof are low...118 and 46 respectively...so should I just be patient? I have no overcharge either...is that preventing me from using 2nd-tier skill?

Can you at least bring back being fully healed after completing an Arena if you're keeping the monster health changes? It'd make this a bit more tolerable.

I doubt it would be put back since a lot of people said that tokens of healing were useless. I really feel sorry for newer players right now....
