QUOTE(esheep @ Jan 23 2012, 00:38) I guess those who have a full set of shadowdancer before this patch are the only ones who might be buffed, because they are not sucked by the new burden penalty and gain benift for the low interference. With the newly added skill, this game might be enjoyable for them. For mages, it is a disaster. The moster got buffered so we can not kill them fast even in normal. When they fight back, we are just kicked out of the game. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Good. Mages should have never been able to clear rounds in one or two hits anyway.

QUOTE(wr4st3r @ Jan 22 2012, 17:13) I'm so bad at math I'm ashamed, do you mind writing down the calculations for that? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) My Burden stands at 39.4 atm. No real calculations. Every point of burden gives 1.33% decrease of your evade. Not 1.33 points of evade, but 1.33 percent of the value. 1.33 = 4/3 incidentally. So your burden of 39,4 means that your evade got slashed with 52,4% (39,4 x 1,33 = 52,4). So if your evade pre-patch was 20%, your burden would cut it down to 10% post-patch. So you just lost slightly more than half your evade chance. QUOTE((Cheater) Tiap @ Jan 22 2012, 19:54) I like how melees are laughing at mages for the HP bonus thing when they've been screwed as much as we have. It's like watching a man mocking another man for being mutilated after they both had their hands cut off.
Actually, it's more like a man who has been whipped now laughs in schadenfreude when the onlooker who said "it's not that bad" now ends up tied to the post next to him and gets whipped alongside him. How's that for "not that bad" now that you are taking the lashes together with the melees, instead of just being an onlooker at someone else's misery? Why not? Melee can do it with shatter strike? And mages have to use mana to try and one-shot most of the mobs otherwise they hit back so hard that they die. A lot of melee use maces and hope to stun everything in that first turn, its not much different. And no one should go from 100% to spark of life proc'ing on normal when they have 40-60% mitigation This post has been edited by skillchip: Jan 23 2012, 02:09

Eh, I dual-wield. Tried out Maces, didn't like it very much. And shatter strike still requires you to hit things ~15 times before you can use it, and now that there's a cooldown for it... Well, you see what I'm getting at. Mages can (or could) hit kill everything with a single spell, with no need to increase their overcharge first. Try your inv... WHAT THE FUCK. They're not there!? You can still check how many Blood/Chaos tokens you have in the ROB/ML, but I can't think of any place to check healing tokens.

I can still clear a room with 2 spells. I still got crap mage gear. So I don't really see what the complaint is for normal. Overcharge was still at zero for the run on Feast for Crows, used the exact same amount of pots before the patch.
As for melee, on Exile the extra skills rocked me through to the end with 1 less pot to use, not bad on normal.
So for this patch, I got no complaint about the extra life on the monsters, didn't even notice a thing.

Just found out IWBTH is my best friend with this change and considering my level, damn high experience with way less HP than before and with half decent gear it takes 4~ spells.

Alittle change of direction on the discussion of this new patch, im finding myself doing MORE damage in ROB and AC than on grindfest.
I know the player created monsters can have theyre stats boosted to whatever the creator wants, but some of these jokers are 3 times higher in defense against melee attacks over Manbearpig, White Bunneh, and Mithra. All three were at level 191 like me and I killed each with just my main club weapon and using regen 2 one time just for support.
I thought they were gonna splatter me before I got them down to half hp with the trouble grindfest was giving me.

I'm still not seeing enough fighting here. Now then, I'm not taking this seriously, if I was I would start a Troll thread. This just for minor fights. --------------- --------------- Mages There you go you uppity mages, not feeling too superior now are you, silly gits. About time you screwballs got what was coming to you. --------------- --------------- --------------- Melee We just got royally screwed huh ? --------------- ---------------

Tenb:
People love and expected mindnumbling grindfest gameplay when it's come to this kind of game. Make it harder, and therefore less mindnumbling, will results in backlash. Not providing such gameplay and the game risk alienating players...
Sadly, most game actually rewards the player who do this more than the more challenging gameplay mode and HV is doing exactly that...
So IMO as a way to encourage people to play more at higher difficulty, I think it would be more effective to give a higher difficulty a higher rewards, especially the one that actually visible to and palpable by the player. In HV term, that could be an actually attractive drop rate & quality multiplier to give more incentives for the player to actually want to play them rather than increased HP on lower difficulty with the aim to drive them away from the mindnumbling grindfest that they love.
Regards.
........
BTW, even though it still feel a bit unpolished, I got boost by this patch and I love it! ::trollface::

I tink the proficency burden and intrference needs to be brought back to all classes since there is no grace limit for it now as the 3 or 5% of titles arnt doing much...
Just thinking thou.

Restart your computer. That magically solves it.

I got that too when I relogged into HV. Seriously this update causes problems and I don't want to restart my PC to get into HV since I'm using H@H as well.

I feel like I'm the only person who didn't get that error. Perhaps, were you guys using HV STAT?

I did get that error (brute-force Shift+Reload and restart the browser eventually fixed it), and I didn't use STAT.
