I
did note that as the one thing melee users have over mages with Spirit Mode... (IMG:[

But like I said, I know little about maging. So if leaving one enemy alive to build up overcharge is extremely dangerous, then OK, not that much of a buff. Definitely think it's much harder on melee users either way.
So far, from what I've experienced, being a mage on higher difficulties is about blowing monsters away with spells that do 5X the amount of health you have before they get lucky with a "magic" attack (melee monster skills being the worst, because they can't be resisted, and your parry is low) that is likely to do around 10 points of health more than you have at max. Even at Nightmare, they still have spells that do 50% of your health, so recently picking up Regen has been a blessing because it keeps you at full.
In other words, anything that increases the amount of turns it takes to kill something (like melee attacks) greatly increases the chance of being one-shotted.
I used to only do melee attacks against celestials and elementals (I have a soul Ethereal staff), because I don't have Dark or Soul magic yet. That and activating Mana Theft. Ever having my OC at 100% was something I did only when I went out of my way to do it.

So then once you beat it at IWBTH, it'll never heal you again?
Yeah, I read the part about not regenning right after doing my daily First Blood on IWBTH. :S
Also, now that spirit points are barely used at all, can we stop the Spirit Gem from dropping? I mean, I have nearly 100 spirit points and even if I go out of my way to do melee attacks to raise my OC, I couldn't possibly use that much...
And the fact that OC is lost during Spirit Mode when doing things like popping potions or other things that aren't improved by Spirit mode is annoying. Especially because SM takes a turn to activate...
And I want the ability to name my Spirit Mode. It was ironic because the name of my Spirit Attack was a reference to a constant ability that lasts a short while...
