- How can I know what is Suffix Roll? - What is Base Roll? How could the weapon damage of slaughter ranged by 45 to 75 when my weapon have a damage of 162?
I saw that Base Rolls, Base Multiplier, Derived Base, and Projected Maximum already listed on your table here: http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Equipment_Ranges . So then what values do I have to input in my weapon to know how much damage it'd add to my base damage? For example, here: Fine Mace of Slaughter
But hey, maybe your guide is not the only one to blame for not being newb-friendly, I think maybe thats because there are no specific thread discussing about how to gauge weps/eqs from scratch, with no knowledge at first. Or maybe it already existed but I just havent found it yet.
Really, I have very little to no knowledge about HV, and I really appreciate your help guys. Thanks in advance.

It's right on the weapon. That 162 IS what it will add to your base damage (the Strength and Dexterity it adds will also add to your damage). This page is not newb-friendly, and it's really not meant to be, as it's basically technical data. It's meant to answer the question "How high CAN the numbers go?", which becomes important when you're sinking hundreds of thousands into equipment.
Take a look at Level Scaling to understand how a range of 45 to 75 translates into 162 damage at your level (it's a base Weapon Damage of ~57.8, so to me it shows 814 damage). You should be looking at Derived Base and Projected Maximums, since they're the ones that actually matter, Base Roll is only of significance if you're poking under the hood. Don't worry about the formulas on the Equipment Ranges page, they're there for people trying to figure out how the loot roller actually works.
And to appease the skillchip with a sacrifice of data. . .

Thanks for clearing things up (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . Yeah this thing is not for me (at least for now), Im poking my nose into it just because many people say "want to know if your eq is good or not, check this" with links to the eq range wiki page.
My initial thought was the numbers on eq detail page is just a base number, and I should use the eq range formula to know how much the real dmg output is, just like Monster Hunter Melee Damage Formula FAQ, but now I know it isnt. Thats really helpful to consider what weapon gives more dmg output than others for me. So if I'm not mistaken, the numbers on the eq detail page is already calculated for my current level then? That'd make things a lot easier then (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
