I'm assuming this "unofficial" update will work on Greasemonkey in Firefox?

(IMG:[i1222.photobucket.com] http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/MrTTAO/skippedturn.png)

I noticed that sometimes when I try to use a powerup it simply skips my turn.

Only way I knew to skip a turn without taking an action (defend, focus, etc are actions and would show up) is to try to cast a spell I don't have enough mana for. Although I had plenty of mana when this happened so maybe it is trying to cast a spell I don't have.

Notice that the only thing I did on turn is regen.

This skipping is a full action, in that monsters CAN attack on it. The image I show does not have any do so but that is coincidence. The time before it I had 5 monsters (out of 5) attack me on such a powerup induced skipped turn.

QUOTE(Ilirith @ Jun 27 2012, 15:40) *
And yes, the proficiency summary includes the fixes as well.

Thanks

Well, i don't use firefox myself, so i haven't tested it there.
Though it should work as well as it used to on firefox, as my changes are still rather minor ones.

Found a way to reproduce the powerup lost turn.
Click the powerup normally through the items menu once, then click the icon created by HVSTAT.
Turn is skipped, Monsters get a chance to act, Gem is retained, proficiencies not gained, but no error or action message.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention it happened to me while using the original scrip so I wasn't blaming this on you.
As soon as I finish this editing bounty I took I will learn how to pack chrome extensions and start using your script.

Then I will start looking for things I can fix. First on the menu for me to fix is to keep the images for the powerups in the script itself. Not only is it wasteful of bandwidth and slower to retreive, but on chrome at least it keeps on error and giving me a broken image icon instead of the actual proper icon.

Good job.

Although, this could also a separate issue with same result and similar cause.

Drag and drop the .js file onto firefox, then hit install when the button is no longer gray in the dialog box that pops up.

1. Uninstall greasemonkey
2. Install scriptish: [addons.mozilla.org] https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scriptish/
3. Open addons page in firefox.
4. Click the gear button and select "install user script from file"
5. Only install hv_statistic_tracking_a.user.js
the other files will be retrieved automatically from the internet.

The main things that it fixes are the proficiencies display and the power-ups icons, right? Was there anything else?

Column view was not working properly before, at least not for me.
Also, some of the shrine tracking wasn't working properly either.

If you are using chrome
[quote name='Ilirith' date='Jun 29 2012, 04:31' post='2024566']
Fiddled around a bit with the chrome packaging and had some annoyances with getting it to install from a local .crx packed file, so i wasn't able to test if it worked properly.
I went with a zip file instead, which is easily installed as well.

Instructions:

1. Download the Zip
2. Unpack the Zip file somewhere you can find it and won't delete it. ( In your documents, desktop, c: or wherever you wish)
3. Open Chrome and go to [chrome] chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer Mode by ticking the "Developer Mode" checkbox at the upper right part of the page.
5. Click "Load unpacked extension" and browse to the unpacked folder.
6. After loading the extension, untick the "Developer Mode" again and return to playing HV

I tried it a few times, seems to work fine.
It should use the same localstorage as the other versions, so there shouldn't be any problems there.

Anyways, the changes are:

Fixed PowerUp Gem icons, they now refer to the new location of statics

Is there any way to clear the new tabs in the inventory with out having to go through each item (over 600)?

Shadowsong, I took your version 5.2.31 and:
I updated jquery.min.js from v1.7.1 to 1.7.2
jquery-ui.min.js from v1.8.16 to v1.8.21
I tried updating the css framework from v1.8.16 to v1.8.21 but it apparently its a custom themed one and I don't know which theme it is, so it broke many icons so I left it as 1.8.16 for now.
[blog.jquery.com] http://blog.jquery.com/2012/03/21/jquery-1-7-2-released/
[jqueryui.com] http://jqueryui.com/docs/Changelog/1.8.17
[jqueryui.com] http://jqueryui.com/docs/Changelog/1.8.18
[jqueryui.com] http://jqueryui.com/docs/Changelog/1.8.19
[jqueryui.com] http://jqueryui.com/docs/Changelog/1.8.20
[jqueryui.com] http://jqueryui.com/docs/Changelog/1.8.21

Also, you versioned it as 5.2.31, the problem with that is that it is read as five point two point thirty one.
So v5.2.5 is a lower version then 5.2.31. So I went ahead and versioned it as 5.2.4 and packaged it as a crx. I am including the PEM file too (although technically the only reason you would need the PEM file is if you wanted to set up some sort of automatic updater)

I asked on the jquery forum how to package the pngs into the extension rather then linking to a web location (also went and saved all 4 images). It should improve performance for them to be packaged in rather then downloaded every time and will prevent future issues with naming.
[forum.jquery.com] https://forum.jquery.com/topic/displaying-an-img-on-a-tab

There was something similar here:
[forum.jquery.com] https://forum.jquery.com/topic/jquery-img-src-replacement
But I tested this syntax and it didn't work... well, almost, I tested it without the "" around the filename, which I couldn't easily enter because its set up as an incremental variable. I would have to do some decent amount of function reconstruction to allow that. Something to test later I suppose.

Thanks and Great work mrttao!

The version doesn't really have any other importance than a timestamp, so go ahead and version it any way you feel :3

Also, it sounds like you are definitely more adept at JS than me, so glad to see you around :3

Thanks (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Unfortunately I am fairly new to it myself so it will take me time to learn things before I can fix/implement them.
I did some userscripts before but they weren't terribly complex. I did do some research on zombie scripts and performance optimization though.
Anyways, thanks for making we welcome and I will do my best to help. And thank you for your contributions.

As far as versioning goes. Firefox lets you overwrite a newer extension with an older one. But if you tried that in chrome it would give:
(IMG:[i1222.photobucket.com] http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/MrTTAO/Downgrade.png)
Which forces you to first manually uninstall an extension. It's not a terribly big deal but it is avoidable if you know chromes versioning rules.

Well, I was hoping to point at actual files packed into the crx with it but this is an awesome solution I haven't even considered.
What program did you use to encode the pictures in such a way? (there are other images embedded into this extension that need converting)
