If really you have such glaring gaps as the above from your translator, you should really ask him/her to fill those in (or not accept it in the first place...).

I am actually not working with a translator. I am simply tankifying this translation to this tank. The odd thing is that either the original translators removed some whole bubbles or the tanks have some dialogue that the mag-scans don't. Look at this and this for reference.

Hello, have some questions again:

1. https://e-hentai.org/s/6857848781/576852-7
1st panel, those two rectangular bubbles. In the first one, she saying "I noticed him staring...".
In the second one, is she saying something like "what HE didn't notice is how I got all excited by that (him staring) everyday" ?
I'm a bit confused because of "どころか", which apparently means "far from / not even close to". First I thought she's contradicting the first bubble with the second bubble, like "I noticed him staring..." -> "I didn't notice it and got excited"

2. https://e-hentai.org/s/ececd70d83/576852-20
3rd panel, rectangular bubbles. Is she saying something like
"this is satisfying all of my body" -> " even my heart/mind and everything"?
(so basically, that she's totally feeling it?)
It just sounded pretty strange to me, so wanted to go sure that I didn't get it wrong.

3. https://e-hentai.org/s/e54c07b860/576852-24
3rd panel, last bubble (the one with 'tsukiau'): How to translate it?
Would something like "If we were to say we're go... going out... that might sound awkward, I guess?"
I'm just not sure how to translate the "付き合う", if he's kind of asking her to go out with him ("If I asked you to go out with me, would that sound strange, I wonder?") or if he's just talking about their both relationship.

4. Also, on the same page, last panel, 3rd bubble with 考えてこう", how is the "こう" meant? I haven't seen "こう" at the end of a sentence like this before. I personally think it's either meant as "this" like in "we can think about THIS while...", or it's something with "let's" like in "行こう", as in "LET'S think (of that) while...". Wanted to ask about this so that I understand it properly.

Thanks in advance for the help! :-)

I'm a bit confused because of "どころか"

This "どころか" means "not only ~ but also ~".
Then, the sentence means "Not only I noticed it but also got excited".

She says about both of physical and mental things.
"It is filling whole of me... both of the body and the mind..." or something.

Right.
This "付き合う" is kinda "go steady with".

Oh, I guess that's basically what your original post said, but I probably just skimmed over it... In that case, that's a noble endeavor. ^^

Unfortunately, it seems that just transferring that translation to the tank may be hazardous for accuracy. For all I know, the raws originally used would match the translations fine (or not, idk), but I can definitely tell you that the tank raws do not match the existing translation perfectly. For instance, the two bubbles on this page don't really say the same thing as the two bubbles in the same place on the tank page. Likewise, the last bubble on this page does not say the same thing as the same place on that tank page, either.

A good double-check between the translation and the tank may be in order, to at least spot the places where the translation is entirely different from the tank (and/or where the translation could simply be improved, as with "first love" - I can't say what they translated to get that, but I know it's not a great translation of the tank's text).

お玉様

This is the name/title of a shrine maiden character. I'd like to come up with some proper localized name if possible, but I can't figure out what it means. The best I can come up with is that it relates to some festival held on the Year of the Ox in commemoration of a princess who was cured of smallpox or something totally obscure like that, and even then I'm guessing the name is meant to be a contextual pun. Any Japanese folklore buffs who might be able to help?

If we suppose [www.miyapedia.com] 尾玉尊 really is the god for which the shrine maiden is named, then that god was worshipped as a ward against smallpox (because of the princess thing). The 玉 part apparently refers to the 神体 itself (which may be something like a kidney stone), and 尾 has to do with how it appeared (supposedly a light ran up a cow's tail or something). That's what the god's name apparently "means"...if it helps/that was what you meant.

I suppose you're keeping the essential shrine maiden context/setting, so you probably don't mean "localizing" like using some similar Roman god or pagan god's name or anything. Which...yeah, I guess would mean you're just trying figure out how to decently translate the name?

An alternate possibility could be that お玉 [ja.wikipedia.org] is related to 玉の輿. Maybe? In some alternate reality...?

On the bottom of this page, the line mentions something breaking her Noh mask, which i'm guessing is removing that tough-girl look off her face. Is there another meaning to 能面 or another way of saying it?

This "能面" means "能面のような無表情", metaphor of "amimia (poker face)".

Had some questions:

1. https://e-hentai.org/s/2279dd99a5/554188-86
Context is that the man and the woman end up reading a ero-hon (porn book, I think, not hentai) together.
2nd panel, 1st bubble. First she's saying something about that she always wondered if the text on the side is true (i.e., if the text is what the porn actress actually said or if it's just something the editors made up) and then she says something like "like she's been exposed or such". Well, she's exposed anyway, right? Or does it mean like "as if she didn't knew she was being photographed/filmed and now got exposed in the book"? Or does the "expose" just mean like "her true words being exposed"?

Also, same page, 3rd panel, 3rd bubble, the "あっそのっ いつもって・・・違うのよ?" Does it mean "Ah- this (porn book)- it's not a usual one, right?" (i.e., it got more 'hardcore' stuff like anal)?

2. https://e-hentai.org/s/0320d40800/554188-90
4th panel, the "本のより・・・おっきいね", how is it meant, 'hon' or 'moto'?
"It got bigger than from the book" or "It got bigger than how it originally/earlier was"?

3. https://e-hentai.org/s/cb6b9489b0/554188-91
3rd panel, 2nd text, 2nd sentence: "やっぱどっかで抜いてこ", does it just mean "as expected, you can't just do such a thing whereever you want"? Or is it meant differently?

4. https://e-hentai.org/s/f24e0c0941/554188-99
1st panel, 2nd bubble: "今までの長い分". What does 長い分 mean here? "All that has accumulated up until now" (his sperm)? Or does it have to do something with the time?

5. https://e-hentai.org/s/1af1bc3f5b/554188-98
1st panel, is he trying to explain himself here, like in "about the book thing, I just wanted to read a normal book, not a porn book with you?" (https://e-hentai.org/s/e63a299393/554188-83, 5th panel), or is he talking about something else?

Thanks a lot for the help in advance! :-)

Then, she means she wonders if the porn actress is professional or not.

It's "hon" and means "yours are bigger then mag's one".

This "抜く" means "ejaculate".
And this "抜いてこ" means "I must ejaculate to settle myself down".

1st panel, 2nd bubble: "今までの長い分". What does 長い分 mean here? "All that has accumulated up until now" (his sperm)? Or does it have to do something with the time?

Seems she means both of "since our play was interrupted" and "since came to love her".

Seems he's having the excuse about it.
But anyway, she interrupts it, and his line is incomplete.
So, I think no need to translate it.

Hmm, ok. So the "この横に書いてある文章って本当かな" refers to some kind of biography of the actress written in the book (on the side of the picture), and she now wonders it that article is even true, or if instead, the actress is just some amateur girl who got recorded?

QUOTE(Thira @ Mar 28 2013, 18:24) *

Ah, so it refers to the previous sentence, like in "ah- now don't think that I always read such books, ok? It's not like that!", I guess?

QUOTE(Thira @ Mar 28 2013, 18:24) *

Hm, ok. But the "yokatta" refers to the previous bubble and not the size of his penis, right?

Sorry, but I already have a new question about a different chapter:
https://e-hentai.org/s/65d9ed0dda/578437-73
Panels 4 and 5, she says "一回出しちゃった方が" --- "落ち着いて楽しめるでしょ".
What does she want to say?
I personally think it may be something like "After you've cum once, you'll calm down and be able to enjoy it (more lewd stuff) more, right?", but I'm not sure, especially because of the "方が". Usually, I just see/know "方がいい, so I'm a bit confused.

Simply she wonders if the situations of the mags are staged or documentaries.

Kinda. Also this refers not only "time" but also "mental".
It's like "Come hard as you eagerly wanted" or something.

Kind of a dumb requst this time, but i'd like this old script checked. I remember asking about it once before because I know the first translator was crap, so i'm not sure if I've gotten a better one since then. Anyway, this script, for this doujin. Oh, and if someone can direct me to a German translator, that'd be helpful too.

Seriously? I'm just wondering whether it's a very poor machine translation or simply a rewrite (plus he obviously didn't know anything about Queen's Blade)...

I only read the first page:

Japanese
Their translation
My comments

はやく縛りを解きなさい‼
Tomoe: Untie me right now!!
Okay, why not...

ぶゥ~~~ッだお姉ちゃんがいうから、
Elina: Boooo~~ don't say that, Onee-chan
First of all, she's not her Onee-chan. I watched like... the first two episodes and I know that. The translation is more like "Wrong answer [the "boooo" is some kind of buzzing sound used for example in TV shows when someone gives a wrong answer]. Onee-chan asked me not to kill you," [the end of the sentence is Elina's next sentence]

こんな戒めを受けるいわれはありませんっ‼
ELina: I don't want you saying that!!
First of all, that's not even Elina speaking. This can be easily inferred from the kind of Japanese she uses, or from the bubble's shape... Moreover, the translation is completely messed up. "There is no reason to use such caution!!" would be much closer to the real meaning.

殺さないであげてるのにィ~~~
Elina: I could kill you~~~
Where did the grammar go? That seriously can't be anything but a machine translation (because the vocabulary is right). That's actually the end of Elina's sentence above "I'm already being nice enough and not killing you."

うるさいこと言ってるとコウだぞ~~
Elina: So stay quiet while I make you feel good
No. Just no. That's not at all what she's saying. "This is what's going to happen if you don't stay quiet."

QUOTE
Oh, and if someone can direct me to a German translator, that'd be helpful too.

I can speak German. Not well enough to translate to German, but probably enough to translate from it (though I must be rusty because I haven't used my German in years).

German to english. It's some goofy Mario comic I learned about yesterday. Part 1 was scooped up by someone else, but I happened to have part 2 if you'd like.

And thanks Kirby, i'm glad I asked before hand.
