QUOTE(xyzdragon @ Sep 19 2012, 11:04) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) So you say, that that negation is rhetorical? Yes. Basic form of "I should ask" is "聞いておかないと". "お伺い立てないと" is rhetorical. And the point is, it seems he says it jokingly in this context.

Hello again (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm really bad with names, so could you help me out? 佐田朋美 (is that Sada Akemi or Tomomi?) and 加藤武重 (this one's Katou... Takeshige?) Also there are two things I'm not sure about in this doujin: https://e-hentai.org/g/516964/beb714e812/Firstly, page 12: the title is something like "when you get hungry", right? Secondly, page 16: There's this line at the end, せーので食べようよ! - what does it mean?

Takeshige?) Seems Tomomi Sata (or Sada) and Takeshige Katou. QUOTE(pesu @ Sep 24 2012, 15:56) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) Firstly, page 12: the title is something like "when you get hungry", right? Right. Seems "term of 'hungry'" isn't bad also. QUOTE(pesu @ Sep 24 2012, 15:56) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) Secondly, page 16: There's this line at the end, せーので食べようよ! - what does it mean? "せーの" is short for "一斉の". And "一斉の、せ" is a call for synchronizing a timing for something. Then, "せーので食べようよ" means "let's start eating simultaneously".

^That, I guess. (I've never looked up the literal words behind it.) Often the whole "chant" is translated as "1...2...3!", and so, when just referring to it, it's usually translated "On the count of three." But basically, yeah, just "let's do it together".

Hello, I got three questions this time: 1. (IMG:[ thumbnails103.imagebam.com] http://thumbnails103.imagebam.com/21220/ad757c212194089.jpg) Which kanji is the first character in the second line? My guess would be "Mahou Shoujo", but the kanji for "ma" in "mahou" doesn't look like this one at all. I searched a lot for a kanji which looks like this, but had no success, so it'd be nice if someone could tell me. 2. Second panel on this page: https://e-hentai.org/s/5cef4079cb/356891-89She says "Itakunai?", which I'd translate as "Doesn't it hurt?", and he answers "tabun", which can mean "probably", or "quite much". How is this meant here? Is she worried about hurting him? My guess from the context would be: "Will it be ok for you?" (getting lots of paizuri) "Yeah, I guess" But I'm not sure, so it'd be nice if someone could explain it to me. 3. Same page, last (rectangular) text bubble: It says "Ore mo class de uitetashi gakkou de...". My question is about the verb "uku". Does it mean "to feel out of place" is this context? Like "I felt out of place in my class, too, and..."?

It's 'mahou'. Some kanji can be written in simplified (handwritten usually) forms. See [ en.wikipedia.org] Ryakuji at wikipedia, example 13 for this form of 魔. (I googled 'abbreviated kanji', so you can probably remember that easily enough. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) ) Not sure about your #2 immediately, so I'm skipping it. =P QUOTE 3. Yeah, feel or "be"...

"魔" is pronounced as "マ(ma)" then, "魔" is often written as "マ" in "广(麻垂れ:madare)". But not official anyway. Does it mean "to feel out of place" is this context? Right. "浮く" in this context is kinda "not fit in", "not suited", "left out of" or "not in the mood".

QUOTE(pesu @ Sep 28 2012, 18:18) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) I don't really get how this phrase (髪を下ろしたからじゃない) fits into context here: https://e-hentai.org/s/39517937eb/371792-29"(Her facial expression seems changed) not because of she put down her hair." This refers to lower panel ("but because of...").

Hi, I had a question regarding this page, especially the second panel: https://e-hentai.org/s/13cf38187d/356891-100In the page before this, the boy kinda confessed to the girl casually. She was quite surprised by it. Then the boy teased her about her getting really wet. She was like "you said such strange things, so..." He continues teasing her with asking "What do you mean with strange things? I'll move much faster if you don't tell me, ok?" (first panel). And then comes her answer. From the context I'd expect her to say something like "that you said that you loved me". But she's saying here "suki, riku-chan daisuki dakara", which sounds to me like she's confessing now, saying "because I really love riku-chan (boy's name)". But she's not really answering his question. So well, I guess I'm kinda misunderstanding the meaning of what she's saying in 2. panel. Can someone please explain it to me? I thought his 変なことって何だよ was more of an 'I am offended' line. Like what he said wasn't 'strange' at all. He wasn't asking her to clarify. Then he threatens to start moving if she doesn't say she loves him too. Or maybe I'm wrong (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

@pesu: The way she says, 'sore ha' in the middle doesn't really fit that interpretation, I think. (And otherwise, I don't think that's the intended meaning, but I can't explain it for sure.)
@mrmuk: possibly the first part is her answering him like you thought, "(You said) 'suki'". And then maybe there's an implied 私も before the next part, and with 'dakara' in there too, she's just gone on a bit of a tangent. Like, "that's why I got embarrassed" or something. Maybe?

"変なことって何だよ?" seems question, but in fact, he didn't expect her answer. Just teased. And she didn't answer that directly, but instead of it, answered the reason of her getting more wet as "陸ちゃ…大好き…だ…から…っ".
