@KirbyDances + Thira: Thanks to both of you. I appreciate the assist.

UF

PS: do you happen to remember if they were bugs vs. worms vs. whatever? I'll go with the former if you don't.

I could use some help translating this line:

へーきだせーがも褒めてくれたぞ
(せーが = Seiga, her boss)

Translating it as "She spoke well about you" sounds too odd in this context, so I was thinking about changing it to "She said I should help you", but that sounds far too explicit (I'm assuming she wants to keep her involvement hidden, mostly based on her thoughts near the end of the book). So, any ideas?

On a related note, any suggestions on how to translate zombie moans? ("おお..." in the original)

(Apparently I can't post an URL; the passage is in "(Reitaisai 10) [StrangeChameleon (Hisaka Tooru, Mikagami Hiyori)] Walking dead (Touhou Project)", page 9)

if me, i think i would translate it close to what you do..

heiki da, seiga mo hometekureta ze
"It's fine, you got praised too by Seiga..."

it's weird.. i can't find the doujin..

or so i think... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hey guys, I've got a sentence that I'd like a double-check on. It's from the same viper RSR doujin as before.

Thanks for the help!

need some help for a song translation.

QUOTE

the 潔く part read as "isagiyoku" but somehow in the song i kinda heard it as "kiyoku / giyoku"
what romaji is right for that one?

i think the literal translation itself goes like this, "If you're a man, then do this with a fiery bravery"
what is the best translation for that sentence?

Part of the lyrics :
QUOTE

from the song : 時空のパルス by Faylan

thank you

"Nara" is not really "if" in the strictest sense. Something like "men alone" will do X or Y (whatever the song says). Of course, it's not using dake either.

I still recall never getting a proper explanation for the usage of Nara from either my textbook or my Japanese teacher back in the day, it is not the literal "only" of dake, but it is something more potent than "if." Something like "naturally a man will do this thing," but very hard to express in English, especially if you want it to be at all lyrical as a translated song should be.

If that helps at all :-P

Hmmm... It still doesn't quite make sense to me... I'm not sure how the dialog then flows into the next bubble.

https://e-hentai.org/s/26041bd1dc/680576-28

Just checking, but the contents of the top left bubble can be translated as something like:

"Hehe... So you're admitting you're a pervert..."

So when omou is used with the n-desu form, it reads more as "made up my mind?"

[ejje.weblio.jp] 思う
This "思ったんだ" means "I felt I should to".

Don't cleave to the "one-on-one translation".
Feel the context.

I have the name 日高柚姫, which seems to have multiple translations, especially 柚姫. I am translating it as Yuzuki (柚姫) Hidaka (日高). Does this seem right?

https://e-hentai.org/s/e2bbf330c6/720703-14
The "なんだよ気持ち悪い 笑い方しやがって" and "僕は彼女と向き合って 上での余裕が出来た". For the first one, I'm sure he starts laughing and she's all like, wtf? But I'm not sure how to word it. For the second one, I'm not really sure what is being said.

That's all for now. Thanks!
