QUOTE "(go) back please" = "do not enter" So リヴァペトはプラトニック派の方はバックプリーズです means like what, "This doesn't go into Levy x Petra in a platonic way"? Similarly, I am still a bit unclear about プラトニックな二人派な方はバックプリーズ!Does that mean "This doesn't go into two platonic people"? Sorry, I am still confused. QUOTE "どうがんばってもオレはかわいくはないぞ……" So that meaning is "Even if I tried, I wouldn't look cute" or "No matter who hard I could try, I won't look cute" or something? And perhaps I should use a word other than cute since this is a guy speaking, like "charming" perhaps? QUOTE "if you'll be able to remember this night" I understand that なければ(な) is a type of conditional verb ending, but is there a way to make the sentence seem to make more sense? In the preceding page, Levy says "understood. At that time, I will accept you (as a bride), だが(but)...お前(You)..." and then says 今夜の事は忘れなければな. Could I please ask if there is a better to make this sentence flow and be more clear? This sentence is a very important one in this doujin, so I really want to translate it as well as I can. QUOTE "He was the man who taught me that this moment was eternity which was no substitute for that" Would rephrasing that as "He is the person who taught me about this moment, an eternity for which there is no substitute" be a acceptable translation? -------------------------- I forgot one more issue: In the last panel of this page in Levy's composite bubble, does 逆プロポーズしておいて mean "You already reverse proposed to me"? What does 逆プロポーズ "reverse-proposal" mean? Is it that in Japan, men should propose, so that when it's actually the woman that does it, they call it a 逆プロポーズ since it isn't the normal way to do it? And if I am right, should I use "reverse" or just drop it. Because I don't know if using 逆プロポーズする is the standard way to say a girl proposes to a guy, or if it is used for emphasizing the fact that "wow, it was the girl this time". -------------------------- Thank you for all the help by the way. QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) I am still confused.I am still a bit unclear about プラトニックな二人派な方はバックプリーズ! "If you love platonic relation about Levi x Petra, please leave here" QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) "Even if I tried, I wouldn't look cute" or "No matter who hard I could try, I won't look cute" or something? Seems too literal. He means "I wonder how you can feel I'm cute?" QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) And perhaps I should use a word other than cute since this is a guy speaking, like "charming" perhaps? The word refers her previous word. So, it depends on how you translate it. QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) Could I please ask if there is a better to make this sentence flow and be more clear? "(だが)~しなければな" means "(only when) if (you) don't ~". QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) This sentence is a very important one in this doujin, so I really want to translate it as well as I can. To be honest, you need more experience about interpretations on Japanese to translate doujin like this. QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) Would rephrasing that as "He is the person who taught me about this moment, an eternity for which there is no substitute" be a acceptable translation? I think it ruins some original nuances. The core images are "this moment is eternity which was no substitute for that" and "he was the man who taught me that". QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 15:39) Is it that in Japan, men should propose, so that when it's actually the woman that does it, they call it a 逆プロポーズ since it isn't the normal way to do it? Right. This post has been edited by Thira: Oct 25 2013, 21:50

QUOTE "(だが)~しなければな" means "(only) if (you) don't ~". That makes a lot of sense now. Thank you very much. QUOTE To be honest, you need more experience about interpretations on Japanese to translate doujin like this. I would benefit from more experience in interpretation, yes. Hopefully translating this doujin would be a good opportunity for me to practice and learn about how to interpret, or at least contribute to my knowlede a little bit. QUOTE I think it ruins some original nuances. The core images are "this moment is eternity which was no substitute for that" and "he was the man who taught me that". In your sentence, "this moment is eternity" seems weird. I would think you mean "this moment is an eternity". "which was no substitute for that" also, to me at least, seems a bit awkward. For starters, what do"which" & "that" refer to? The way you phrase it make it seem both of them refer to the "eternity" itself is ? If so, shouldn't I say, "(for that) which there is no substitute" . Or are you saying that "which" refers to "eternity" and "that" refers to some other thing which is not "eternity"? And by nuiance, if I were to slightly reverse my previous suggest and say "This moment is an eternity for which there is no substitute. He is the person who taught me that (perhaps "about that" is better)" or the same thing but with "This moment, an eternity....~~~" as the intro, would that keep the "nuance" that you speak of? ------------------------- And now I have reached my final new question: On this page, in the big bubble, Petra says わかっていながらまんまと犯されに行く, which I translated as "I know that from where he is [or should it be "I"] sitting, he could skillfully violate me [or should it be "I could be skillfully violated by him"]".I am not sure about the total accuracy of such a translation. Again, could I please be assisted in this sentence? Thank you. This is definitely the last new one. ------------------------- Sorry to ask so many questions. I now understand all the other response that you sent. Again, thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. This post has been edited by Crystalium: Oct 24 2013, 00:38

QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 22:09) In your sentence, "this moment is eternity" seems weird. In fact, she uses poetic expression here. Like I already mentioned, if you give priority to smooth English, it often ruins original nuances. QUOTE(Crystalium @ Oct 23 2013, 22:09) Petra says わかっていながらまんまと犯されに行く, which I translated as "I know that from where he is [or should it be "I"] sitting, he could skillfully violate me [or should it be "I could be skillfully violated by him"]". "Even I know what will be happened, I'll go and be (beautifully) fucked by him (on the way he thought)". This post has been edited by Thira: Oct 25 2013, 21:47

QUOTE(Thira @ Oct 23 2013, 19:52) "Even I know what will be happen, I'll go and be (beautifully) fucked by him (on the way he thought)".
Ok, that makes sense. I now know that 犯す is the normal native Japanese for "to fuck", so I suppose I should use that. I'm kind of surprised that she used such a strong word all of a sudden, since it is a bit surprising for her character I think. Although "fuck" seems to be the standard translation, I think I will translate it as "violate" since it is a bit more "tame" a word and will, I think, fit her character and the story at that point better. That's the last of it. Thank you Thira for all of your help.

Hi guys! Just a quick question (hopefully). What does it say here on the bottom right rectangle+large bubble? https://e-hentai.org/s/1c73433109/623361-31The rectangle looks like it mentions something about swallowing/drinking the semen (not sure what the question mark in that bubble means though) and I have no clue regarding the large oval at bot right =\

Drink it, Hiyori-san! You can drink my (semen), can't you?ピンポーン *ding-dong*SFX of doorbell ringing. なんだ… 誰だろう…? What... Who's that...?I guess that someone came to visit and they got interrupted, that's why they didn't have sex until later time. Are these the parts you wanted help with? Sorry to bother you guys. Two questions from this story. First is the top-left of this page: 「頑張れば頑張っただけ 女性扱いされなかったし それに」 The "ganbatta" next to the "ganbareba" messes with my head. (Is it "頑張れば、頑張っただけ[...]"?) "If I tried, I only tried to not be treated as a woman"? Also, I don't understand how それに (morever) transitions into "腰の動かし方なら 自信あるのよ?", because what does her having confidence in how she moves her back have anything to do with the preceding sentence?I suppose I'll just have to take my best guess. Thanks anyway. The second question is about a goofy line from this page: 「日本男児の 大和魂見せてやる!!」 I'm curious how you guys would translate it because "I'll show you the Japanese spirit of Japanese men!!" sounds really silly, but I can't think of how else to word it. Thanks for your attention. Thanks jfji552. I'm thinking something like "I'll show you the power of (the/my) Japanese spirit!!" retains enough of the meaning to work. get someone better to draw it
First one: They, as the victims, are the ones being lustful towards the woman?

QUOTE(pesu @ Oct 27 2013, 19:07) 直った直った - Is it something like a broken mic?
I can only make a vague guess about this one. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer.
…ガ、ガガッ!! SFX for eating rice (reference: [thejadednetwork.com] http://thejadednetwork.com/sfx/browse/ga_ga/) I guess Reimu finally got to eat.
あーあー!…お、直った直った。 Aaa, aaa(Clearing her throat)! … Oh, it got better. I guess that since Reimu was very hungry, she couldn't talk normally, and sounded sexy to others. She's finally back to normal after eating.EDIT: look at what Thira has to say. QUOTE(pesu @ Oct 27 2013, 19:07) 何か最近いろいろなお話をもらえて嬉しいですわ - Why the sudden Reimu-style "desu wa"? And "moraete"?
Probably "I'm happy since I'm lately getting various offers", since the author speaks about serialization (in a comic magazine I presume) in the next line. And there's nothing wrong with "desu wa". Even guys use it sometimes in real life, even more on the internet. QUOTE(pesu @ Oct 27 2013, 19:07) 居間で待ってて!! もう私が待てないんだから!
Wait in the living room!!I can wait no longer! What Reimu means: I can wait no longer (to start preparing food since I'm so hungry)What the others think she means: I can wait no longer (to start preparing for 3p sex)QUOTE(pesu @ Oct 27 2013, 19:07) 久しぶりにこの二人だけで落ち着いて? 絡ませることが出来たので、 マッタリできたなぁと... The author's talking about how he went with just the two of the characters, but what does mattari mean in this context?
WWWJDIC give it as "(2) (on-mim) laid-back (lifestyle); relaxed; comfortable" He means that he could draw and move the characters in a relaxed, laid-back and comfortable way at his own pace. QUOTE(Super Shanko @ Oct 27 2013, 22:07) First one: They, as the victims, are the ones being lustful towards the woman?

QUOTE(pesu @ Oct 27 2013, 10:07) 直った直った - Is it something like a broken mic? Yes. "直った直った" means "(broadcasting machinery) was fixed (/repaired)". The author acts like a broadcaster. "…ガ、ガガッ!!" means noise of it. "あーあー!" means testing voice (which is often "one, two, three, four" in English).

Thanks for your attention. Just strike the first "Japanese". Since he's especially mentioning Japanese men, I think it can be thought of as implied that it's Japanese spirit. Or maybe something like: "I'll show you the spirit of a son of Japan!!"

Hey guys! Normally I can handle the SFX's with the help of jadednetwork but this time I couldn't seem to find the SFX on the bottom left of this page https://e-hentai.org/s/4b80a21ed5/468488-22Probably because I don't know what the long trail of the second character is that has the handakuten... I think the first character is "zu"? Any help would be appreciated ^^
