I figured we could use a thread for getting a rough estimate on the sale value of equipment or if it should just be vendored. Also useful for figuring out if something is worth leveling up through IW. Hopefully this will save a lot of headaches since most people don't really know what is worth putting up in their WTS threads.

Allow me to start with but a small selection of goods of which I have no idea if I should vendor:
Superior Axe of the Slaughter 172
Superior Club of the Cheetah 180
Superior Dagger of Balance 170
Superior Dagger of Slaughter 171
Superior Dagger of Balance 176
Superior Rapier of the Cheetah 175
Fine Diamond Shortsword 193

Crude Wakizashi of the Nimble 135

Superior Redwood Staff of the Owl 182

Thanks!

Superior Axe of the Slaughter 172 <- possibly mildly useful

Fine Diamond Shortsword 193

Other than the axe I noted, the rest you can vendor with a clear conscience.

edit: and by vendor I mean toss into the bazaar.

Just a general question, but are there any drain weapons worth selling?

eg: Superior Rapier of the Banshee

I've got a bunch, I expect 99.9% of them to be trash (by which I mean the ones I didn't buy and then replace with better gear).

I'm just going to list them as numbers to save space. (There are a bunch of those magic sticks too.) Most (most) are level 90-100 or so.

1 [Lv. 124] - 2 - 3 - 4 [Lv. 236] - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13

If anyone actually has the patience to go through these, thanks a TON.

Why don't you guys open a thread in WTS and try to sell your equipments?
It's the easiest way to know which equipments are worthy to sale.

And it's pointless to discuss an equipment's sale value.
Remember the time when club/mace are useless and sold at very low price?

Yeah I understand that, but I have no idea what to charge for absolutely anything (because, for the most part, I don't know the prices). So, while I would like to just toss everything into an auction with a starting bid of 500C or something, I don't want to clutter it with crap. Likewise, some of them have high bazaar sell prices (relative to normal), and I don't know if that means they're good, or the game just perceives them as good.

Equipments' bazaar price is most likely to be related to its rarity, not its usefulness.

Equipment's price is also related to its level and stat. It's practically impossible to have some reference price.

My only practical advice is: keep those equipments with rare stat/suffix/proc.

That's the trickiest part about auctions and game changes. Plus, it's really hard to determine if an equip has fair stats if you're way above them now, because the numbers aren't % based anymore, sadly.

On the topic of antiques, I've had this silly shield from when I started and when it was cool to have battlecaster gear.

I think its helpful to get others opinions on what is bazaar food, what is worth selling, and what might be worth a high price or an auction. Just opening a WTS thread with no input could lead to you underpricing your gear or listing a bunch of junk that makes people think your wts thread is worthless.

Whether something is a bunch of junk requires subjective judgement.
Anyone can explain why people are spending credits on a fire-eater kelvar?

Of course, I can suggest that redwood are useless, leathers are not worthy to keep, and you should find plate armors with protection suffix. But that's how I view those equipments; others may have different opinions.
That's the reason why I suggest putting equipments into an auction: let the market determine the price.
Sell them if you don't get any bids, of course.

It's much easier to answer questions like 'Does this equipment have some particularly pretty stat, which people may treasure it in the current patch?'

I maybe wrong. It's 5am and I can't sleep. Oh well.

I generally just save items with high/max stat(s) and hope for the best. New item stat changes have made it anoying though. For ADB/MDB I divide by 7/9 to get a quick rough estimate of the old ADM/MDM values.

Oh, I keep anything with an interesting stat.

You could just auction everything, but personally I get annoyed when there's to much garbage to sort through in an auction page.

Exactly, if I throw up everything in an auction and you click on 3-4 of them, all garbage, there's not much to keep you interested and going through the rest.

Hell, in auctions that I know only have good items, I sometimes still don't click on all of them, and only click on those which seem most promising.

From my experience (mage), stats will be slightly off due to last patch:

Cloth/Staff suffixes:
Fox/Owl = Bazaar fodder, exceptions: high INT fox phase (rare).
Elementalist = Used until a Destruction/EDB replacement can be found. Hard to find gossamer with balanced stats (INT/WIS/Evade/Prof), high accuracy is nice but generally ignorable. High/max proficiency sells well. (good demand)
Heaven-sent = Used until a Heimdall replacement can be found, only max proficiency sells. (okay demand)
Demon-fiend = Used until a Fenrir replacement can be found, only max proficiency sells. (low demand)
Earth-walker = Bazaar fodder, marginally useful for grinding supportive prof if high and you have a few IA slots (unsure), only max proficiency sells. (low demand)
Curse-weaver = Bazaar fodder, surprisingly useful for grinding deprecating prof, useless in ROB now, only max proficiency sells. (low demand)
Priestess = Bazaar fodder, useless. (low demand)

Staves:
Redwood = Bazaar fodder.
Oak = Used mainly for holy damage (Heimdall suffix) in arenas/legendary arenas (level 220+), usually Superior+ quality. Lower levels might use for ROB. Easier to obtain than Katalox staves for holy damage. Max base MDB ~14, EDB ~9. ET 33%+ & 2+ turns also a plus. No Destruction variant. (okay demand)
Willow = Same as Oak, but used for Dark damage (Fenrir suffix). Comes in a Destruction variant for some reason (max base MDB ~22). Haven't had too many of these.
Ebony/Katalox = Going from max stats, suffix damage potential generally ranked from: Destruction > EDB > Elementalist/Heaven-sent/Demon-fiend. Focus staves generally used for levelling, I used one up to level 200 though not sure about now. Demand varies widely depending on stats. MDB most important, ~40 staves are extremely rare (non-existant).
Max base MDB suffix/non-suffix: ~23 / ~40
Max base EDB suffix/non-suffix: 6.58 (7.18 for Katalox) / 2.99
Max base Prof suffix/non-suffix: 11.63 / 6.12
INT/WIS can pretty much ignore, focus on MDB.
ET useful for Katalox staves (ROB/legendary arenas), 33%+ & 2 turns+. Less vitally important for Ebony staves. Stat is basically used for beating bosses/IWTBH difficulty.

Melee stuff:
You people are all crazy. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
