Personally, I'd like to see the following: * history of "accepted" preserved, not erased * gallery-like commenting added, with PM notifications (this needs to be added to regular galleries, too...) * most importantly, the bounties should be editable (or have specific fields that are, my most common mistake that means I have to cancel and resubmit the bounty is providing the wrong gallery link, forum thread link, or title of the gallery/bounty (or forgetting some of those components at all).

being able to remove bounty accepted and limiting the number of times you can accept a bounty by rank(resets after claiming/closed bounty).

Damn straight. I hate being forced to cancel bounties some time later to fix a mistake that I didn't notice in first place and losing any of additional contributions from others in the process.

I would like to be able to use a search function like with the galleries, I don't bother posting any bounties cause I can't be bothered checking through 10 or more pages of bounties to see if what I want to post a bounty for is already there every time I'm interseted in adding someting.
Also a mouse-over thumbnails thing like with the galleries that shows the bounties image, it would give a small glimpse into what sort of manga the bounty is for instead of having to open every bounty to see what sort of manga it is, useful for people who want to add to bounties but aren't sure which they want to add to and don't want to open every bounty page to find one they like.
These are the 2 reasons why I don't bother with the bounties page

I forgot one: I'd like to see more then the Top 10 biggest bounties. Why couldn't we sort them from Top 1 to the last one? I'd like to see what is the Top 11... or 21... and so on.

I wish they had a thumbnail preview on the lists like the normal galleries have. That would make going through them a whole lot quicker instead of having to open each one.

I support both, but of course any search depends on people naming their bounties in a useful fashion, which is often not the case. For a while now I've been posting links in RAW galleries that I've posted a translation bounty for it (in the comments). Perhaps this could be system-supported - as in: we chose a gallery in the bounty system, post the bounty, and the gallery gets an official note that it has a related bounty posted?

I've seen comments posted about bounties before in the galleries and I think your idea a very good one, and clicking on the note should take you to the bounty page so you can get more details and add to it if you want. When posting a TL bounty there should be an option that you have to fill out that is for the url of the raw gallery that adds the note to the gallery on EH saying theres a TL bounty for this gallery, if its not mandatory some people I'm sure won't use it or maybe it could be made so you can only post TL bounties by visiting the raw gallery and having an option there you have to choose to post TL bounties, and if the bounty has already been made it just takes you to the bounty page

Hmm... Just a thought, but the whole thing about random people acceptances might not be as bad as one would think, so far it's the only way to keep track of a bounty (like adding to favorites) without having to search for it again.
Would it possible to have some kind of watchlist for bounties? Like a simple "click to watch bounty" feature.... Sorta like eBay.

Also, I think it's time to update the credit:hath ratio, which hasn't been updated in a year now. I think the old ratio was 3000 credits to 1 hath, which is obviously no longer the case.

Maybe something like Sort by: Name - Size - Newly Listed, plus a little search bar? This post has been edited by Super Shanko: Oct 11 2011, 09:29

With many translation bounties being translation-only bounties, perhaps a new category for editing bounties could be added?
With so few editors around, if there's a separate bounty section for editing only, it might catch potential newcomer editors' attention and/or interest.

The big categories are: translate, find, edit. Everything else could be misc.

I'd like to add translate+edit to that list. I don't know about others, but I actually seek out bounties that are all in one piece. I prefer to either edit things myself or have people I know and trust personally work on my scripts. I imagine having such a category would make the bounty system more friendly to groups in general, not just my own.

Just like it is now, that would be up to the bounty poster to decide whether he's looking for a TL+edit all in one or a TL now and edit later. So it really wouldn't be about groups. Not many groups take up bounties in the first place, so there really wouldn't be a reason to make bounties "group friendly", in my eyes at least. And you can always discuss the details with the bounty poster too.

Indeed, it is up to the poster to decide whether or not to separate the tasks. I simply note that there is utility in having a separate category for full releases if translating and editing do as well, to make navigation easier. Not many groups take up bounties? Well, maybe they should, hm...

Well, separating it like that would definitely favor a translator who's got an editor he can work with. But I just see bounties sitting around for even longer than they do now since there aren't many translators/editors, especially those in groups, dedicated to the bounty system. At least with them separated as tl only/edit only, that can bring out more (hopefully competent) translators and editors. With the posters expecting both to be done at once gets their stuff ignored because not many translators can edit (well) and editors, like myself, can't translate (but I can translate dem moans pretty well now lol). So looking at it like that, there's definitely a small advantage to separating them into parts, but still, stuff is likely sit around for long periods of time anyway. Groups taking up bounties? Sure if they're (well, the translator is) interested in what somebody wants. And that's the case whether we're talking groups or the random freelance TL. Of course, how high the bounty is also makes a difference in level of interest.
