As long as the claim has sufficient information to validate it, sure.

I usually PM the script to the bounty poster. So basically, I just need to hold onto the script and forward it to the moderator as proof if need be, right?

That'd make the most sense. Probably make the claim, nothing after 7 days, go forward the script to show you fulfilled the requirements of the description. This post has been edited by Super Shanko: Mar 30 2012, 02:32

I went ahead and claimed the bounty. Who is the moderator that handles these kind of things? This post has been edited by qaqtusman: Mar 30 2012, 04:59

Tenboro I think. I'm certain there's someone else but their name escapes me.

Naw, just me. There are very few disputes, especially after the claim fee was added.

I have a question regarding posting a bounty. I'm still new at this so I want to know am I allowed to post a link to the doujin I want translated when its in the fjords? I searched for it and its not on the regular galleries but I know the other place its at. I just want to know if its okay to post the link for it in my bounty.
And how much in credits do translators Rank C or above charge per page of translation? Whats the average price bounty posters would offer for that? I don't need an edited or scanlated version, just the written translation in a document would suffice.

First, I don't know. I've never been called on it so I guess it's fine(?). Second, there's no set rate. It really depends on the amount of work, bounty size and (most importantly) if it strikes the interest of the translator.
Also, make it a translation only bounty or have editing optional. Alot of translators pass on editing since there's a mess of people around here that'd do it anyway.

Ok that makes sense. I think I'll make editing optional but state in the bounty that I don't want it edited only a translation is good enough and if someone else later wants to volunteer for editing it he can pick up where the translator left off. I would edit it myself but I suck at using those paint programs.
I think I'll still wait first until someone who knows like Tenboro says its ok to post the link to the doujin in my bounty. I don't want to get in trouble for my first bounty.

Fun fact: you can get away with posting a 5k cred+ 5hth editing for a 30ish page bounty. I see those always getting snatched up.

Thanks for the tip but the doujin in question I want is this one: [ぬるポン] じぇー○○ーはらはめ~私、優等生だったけど援交中年おち○ぽにハマり中です
It is 330 pages with about 165 pages of text that need to be translated, the rest are just images. Thats why to save time I'm not gonna bother with the editing job and just go with a direct translation. I'm just waiting now to hear from someone if its ok to post the link to it and I'll set up the bounty right away. This kind of job could take some time even just for a translation only.

You should be fine posting it. Since it's a bounty where only anyone interested would bother seeing it compared to a direct link in the forums where anyone can see. I've posted a few direct links and haven't gotten any heat from it.

Ok thanks for the advice. I think I'll post the bounty then. Just one last thing though, when I checked out the bounty system I didn't see how to obtain the translated document. Since this is just a translation and is not going to be posted to E-Hentai Galleries how does the person who finishes the translation send it to me?
I want to instruct the translator to send me a MS Word doc with the English translation script but how is that file sent to me when its done? I didn't see where he could attach it in the PM mail do I need to give him my email address and he sends it to me as an attachment?

With that I simply mention that it's a Translation Only and they can sewnd it to me through a PM (maybe in a d/l link). Any little things like that can added in the description.
You might wanna include "Can not be claimed with completed gallery". I lost a few bounties to people that did whatever I posted and uploaded it themself.

How often do unranked hunters with 0 posts on the forums make valid claims?

Dunno how often, but when they do it's usually valid, thanks to the claim fee.

I know I did... I did come here to translate... But I guess there aren't so many who do.

Okay, the reason I asked about unranked, 0 posters making valid claims is because I see a lot of them 'accepting' bounties. This makes me question their legitimacy. Are these bots? Trolls? Why? Just.. why? I had one accept mine, then cancel a day later but another 0 poster took his place. I'm wondering if I really have someone working on a translation or not because I'm sick of this. I've wasted enough time begging people and if a real bounty won't do any good either, fuck it. I couldn't even get people on a shota forum to pitch in with some credits, that really made me WTF. I can't believe how lame they are, maybe that's why they're always bitching about sad pandas.

Not trolls... more like accepting to "watch" the bounties that they want to see done. Right now, there's no other way to keep track of bounties that people are interested in, like we have favorites for the galleries, and by "accepting" the bounties it functions as a crude tracking.
That's why I make a disclaimer that I will ignore any potential bounty hunters who accept my bounties, unless they make a statement that they're working on it AND PM me (or post in my bounty thread).
In my case, there are few bounties that I'd like to see done, but instead of "accepting" them, I contribute to them. Anyone can make a modest contribution of only 500c and it's much more effecient way to track the bounties, since unlike accepts which expire after 30 days, any contributions won't expire (unless the bounty poster cancels the bounty, or you withdraw your contribution). And best of all, you're actually helping out in trying to get the bounty completed, even if just tiny bit.
