Which is a rather major change in the spell itself, since it is a spell that normally dissolves upon use, and you want it to be permanent instead.
It's same with spark and now we have it in IA.
I know Spark have spirit cost, but Absorb has fail chance.

Shadow Veil and Haste doesn't protect a player either, it merely gives them a better chance.
Well, that what protection means, better chance to survive.

And it is also something that is a bit wrong when spark/spirit shield is a necessity to avoid being one-shotted by normal mobs at anything above normal difficulty.
I feel same way. At least spirit bar have now some usage, and spirit gems are useful. (IMG:[

And doubling its duration will make it one of the cheapest supportive spells in cost/turn, beaten only by the elemental spikes spells.
Doubling duration is fine, however I will still stay with haste and shadow veil.
QUOTE(Randommember @ Sep 25 2011, 05:26)

Making it auto-cast, meaning it will block big attacks but without costing you a turn, would make it vastly overpowered.
Nah, it still would have 25% chance to fail.
Generally this spell in IA would only save your spirit from spark sometimes, not having mana costs thanks to absorbtion.

It should not need IA, you should not need perks in order to play.
Player can still play without Absorb, so why not. It's like this now. However I like your point, we can't overpower hath perks.
