If you have less than 4 GB memory, stop reading now.
Found something for you to play with.
This thing actually works, once you learn to configure it.

http://www.raxco.com/Home/Perfectcache_Workstation.aspxWhat it does ?
Caches most requested blocks from harddrive to memory.
It looks like a weekend project made with visual basic and the helpfile is just one big shit file.
But it works.
I will not pay 70 $ for it, so someone please crack it fast.
The install is deceptive, "automatically configure ..."
That's bullshit.
It doesn't do anything until you do the settings yourself.
I tested the benefits, but the auto option doesn't even activate it, lolz.
So, you wanna test it but don't want it to take all your memory and don't know how to make it work ?
If you want to experiment and use a fuckload of memory, go for it.
To benefit from it with minimum memory loss...
Do this.
1) Install
2) Restart
3) Start program and do this to all your drives.....
4) Right click all your drives 1 by 1
5) Select Cache
6) Click Configure
7) Move the slider that's in the middle to 32 KB
8) Click the slider on the top
9) Move it down as far as you can by pressing the down arrow on your keyboard
10) When the question pops up, click NO.
11) Then press OK and it's active.
For all your drives/partitions, repeat steps 4-11.
This will speed your system up.
To stop your hard drive from crunching like it always does, you need to activate lazy writes.
If your computer refuses to start windows after this, go to safe mode and disable lazy writes.
This will cache your writes for 5 seconds, instead of constantly raping your HD.
This is required for full benefit of the program, screw the warning it gives you.
1) Right click your drives/partitions 1 by 1.
2) Select Cache
3) Click Configure
4) Check Deferred-Write Mode. It's by default in it's recommended setting of 5 secs.
5) Just keep clicking ok and close.
That's it, now windows uses cache like it should always use it.
If you're not a nerd, you will not notice the benefits.
I myself always have a program on desktop that shows my HD performance.
This program is still in it's baby shoes, that's why the auto config doesn't do what I told you to do above.
Bunko approves of this program.
Like I said, crack it fast please. I have 12 days of use left.
Send link to crack to doenator@gmail.com, if you want, I will tell you if it works.
