Really? When I was doing the higher Arenas on Hard or Normal I was barely healing at all. Shield and Regen where enough, with the occasional Cure here and there. Now I have to use Cure all the time and am still dying sometimes. I believe it's 1 extra crystal per 1 you receive (at the first perk), so for artifacts (that give 100) you would get 200.

Crystarium I = 2xCrystals / Crystarium II = 3xCr / Crystarium III = 5xCr Artifact -> Shrine = 100xCrystals x (Crystarium) = 200 / 300 / 500 Crystals

Reading this i was stoked, so i hop into an arena, and i go from taking 20-30 damage on the first round or two to taking over 100. Ok, whatever, i'm slapping out almost twice my damage, this won't be too ba--"anything uses a special and i lose 1/4th of my max hp" OW. HOLY SHIT OW. I'm also having to cast cure like -CRAZY- i mean sure my power armor doesn't exactly make me heal well, but cure 1 doesn't even restore as much as ANY monster special i've gotten hit by as of yet for this patch (my cure heals around 660 non-channeled, specials are hitting me for 700+ minimum!)
I agree with a previous poster who was near my level, i used to pop a cure every so often, use regen or haste when i got channeling but holy SHIT i'm having to cure 2-3 or more times per round on the early rounds! And i'm only on normal!
I feel like i'm playing dynasty warriors on chaos mode with a maxed lu bu. Sure i'm mowing shit in one shot most of the time but i'm receiving it like i'm wearing armor made out of paper.
Damage is just ridiculous....in both directions. I had to use a mana potion at round 18, normally i can save the first one until round 25. This is nuts, good or bad, it's all nuts.

My staff has some kind of crazy looking MDM number attached to it now. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) But I'm guessing that's where the ratings damage went since it seems my magic damage has gone down slightly. Ah, that makes perfect sense now. I forgot about the shrine thing.
@roadgray - Toddlerguro is a magical attack, and those kinds of attacks are actually pretty rare at our level. Even the normal mobs that have a magical skill usually end up dead before we even realize it was a magical type mob, because they have so little HP.
You are right about the general damage in battles being higher than before though. It seems the general attack buff is much more effective than the defensive buff.

Cool, but still, no way to deal stupid monsters like Test0000? Monster Lab really needs fixing to deal with those crappy names before I will say it is awesome (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I heard some good ideas recently, like force rename by higher level players rather than remove to prevent gaming the system.

Against better knowledge I say this: Hold on non-heavy armor that has high damage mitigation percentage. This from the guy who just blackmailed a quickloan company (they had a bug in their licence agrgeement) and apologized an nullified their claim. Remove the old silk and I'll remove you. Seems not the case. If my observation's correct, it's only the base roll multiplier which get changed, since cmal's equipment base stat still yields consistent base across different equipments. May need time to calculate the new multiplier though, especially on ADM and MDM which get changed significantly.

Looking good so far. I like the damage increase on both sides. It speeds up my battles instead of them turning into fighting game style chip-damage on middle difficulties.

Holy shit. I was about 5 attacks away from defeating a boss, I was at 95+% HP, and it OHKOs me. I have high END so my HP is actually quite good at 2173.
26 6 You have been defeated. 26 5 Brain Sucker hits you for 1030 fire damage. 26 4 Dalek uses Brain Sucker 26 3 Death Ray hits you for 1170 soul damage. 26 2 Dalek casts Death Ray 26 1 You hit Dalek for 567 slashing damage.
Holy shit. I'm scared.
