Hmm, the increased damage rate also makes my bleed weapons less effective than before. They're no longer doing enough damage enough to be significant.

The bleed effect used to be less than damage.
Depended on the enemy. Sir Spaghetti died fastest with bleeding.
Wi the custom monsters now... There's just no telling what does most damage unless you do some long term testing....
Which is rendered useless by the next patch.
It's all a screwy mess of balancing.

Does the reduction of levels in IW start at 100? It might be helpful to people stuck in the 30-70 rough patch to be able to complete IW sometimes. I know I never could unless I had the difficulty sub-normal.
Also, no link to this on the News page.

Only normal difficulty guarantees level up by +1.
As for the rest, doesn't much matter to me.
Before this patch, getting fragged started at about round 270.

Agility adds to evasion. Evasion is good.

Yes, but they work in different ways. Stun simply doubles the damage, but PA halves the mitigation of the target - which means it gets more efficient the more heavily armored the target is. For example, PA on a target with 80% mitigation would triple the actual damage.

Previously, I was doing damage in the 100-200s (maybe 300) with a bleed of approx. 60. Now, I'm doing 500-700 damage on mainhand, with a bleed of about 70. The bleed doesn't help much anymore. It takes too long for it to work.

On another note, I just noticed this:

8 1 You crit Amphibious Sperm Whale for 665 slashing damage.
7 1 You hit Amphibious Sperm Whale for 737 slashing damage.

Just how is crit calculated?! It can't be doing less damage than normal attacks can it? Not sure if this is due to the update or not though, I've probably start paying more attention to the values just after updates.

Yeah, me too. The loading between turns is quite laggy. I had thought it was due to my internet uploading/downloading, but... Well, it's not.

I am a tank with high END and this used to work well. I used to receive little damage in the earlier rounds of everything. Now, I feel like a glass cannon. I OHKO most monsters now but I just feel really flimsy even with high END.

Fleeing from a Crystfest restores all the HP (but not the MP), while dying in a Crystfest doesn't.

And I agree: monsters do too much damages now (and I don't seem to kill them faster).

That looks pretty normal to me, actually. I usually take 1.8k crits from Mind Rapers on Heroic mode. I'll have to see during tonight's arena runs to make sure, because my magical mitigations suddenly got boosted to 26.2%, almost double what I usually have.

Does the higher drop rate for Magnificents and Legendaries mean the loot bonus for stronger monsters was fixed, or is giving IWBTH a higher bonus simply covering for it?


Most of the update looks pretty great, especially the part about crystarium boosting artifacts. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

I'm not sure how all these damage changes and high quality equipment bonuses are going to mix together, damage-wise, but I suppose I'll reserve judgement until after I've played awhile.

Yes: I waited for my HP bar to be half filled, I fled, came back to my character page, and my HP bar was full. Try (in normal), and you'll see.
