Assuming Legendaries do not have THAT much shield rating but some flat mitigation instead, yes, it is now somewhat easier to beat'em all

Was killed 3 times today by magical spells cast by the monsters while trying to clear the arenas under Hard difficulty.
Used to be able to clear them under Heroic at least, but with the new tweaks, even Hard can be now tricky. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Also noticed that the monsters NOW deal out very damaging blows in the very first round of the arenas, bringing your health down to critically low levels.

accidently went into a 59 round IW with my dual-wield set on... a pair of void clubs does surprisingly good. 9/10 hits were one-shots and 9/10 of those that weren't left them with a hair of hp and stunned for three turns.

and on a different subject...

And ya know, i think there might still be merit in bleeding weapons, the only thing is duration of bleed isn't nearly as important anymore, only the damage and proc chance, since it works on the turn it lands, it's like getting a free offhand swat for a large chunk of damage....

Just musing to myself, don't mind me.

New information!: Holy shit, without my power armor, this mace isn't nearly as awesome. I went from regularly doing 1500-2500 damage non-stun to regularly doing 500-1200 non-stun. There's no way my power armor is -that- good.

Being a mace user before this patch, and liking it because it was a fairly defensive 2-H due to stun, I'm thrilled and disappointed by it's changes.

Mainly, because of loss of the "hipster" status, when noone liked maces and I actually had a decent chance of buying a good ethereal mace, but also because it feels like it is the new flavour of the month, and is then next up for the nerf stick.

But that's apart from general complains about how the increased damage has made things very hard for lowbies, since you can easily get one-shotted without spirit shield/spark of life, on anything harder than normal difficulty setting, and how it has made absorption stat kinda meaningless, and really unbalanced heals and such.


To continue complaining about the changes to maces (and clubs, kinda fun there too, since they were also very rarely used), I can understand the logic in that you should be able to hit someone that is stunned far harder than someone that is "live and kicking", but my main point is that you should be able to hit someone first.

So I would actually like to see a "nerf" to stun, removing the double damage to stunned targets and instead make chance to hit against stunned target be 100%.
Kinda silly that the stunned, unmoving target that you can hit so hard, is actually still just as able to defend itself as someone who isn't stunned.
And bring back perma-stun too.
That way, maces and clubs would still be getting a little buff compared to what they were before the patch, but not be the uber-weapon that people consider them to be now.

I'd expect Spirit Attack to be physical since it is affected by PA procs. By that logic, it would probably benefit from Weaken, and maybe Bubble Gum and Flower Vase. Don't quote me on that, though.

Uh-huh.
Cause right now I guess the fastest way to clear the schoolgirl run is to facemelt Yuki and Konata with mace stuns and wipe out Mikuru and Ryoko with constant Spirit Attacks. Build up Overcharge > Slap > Build up Overcharge > Slap, rinse and repeat.
This is strange, by the way. 700 spirit + 270% OC Spirit attack hits for up to 300k hp on Legendary. 10 spirit + 270% OC SA hits for 80-100k. What.

You know what's the first thing we like to see?

Instead of having Arena being so damn hard due to Shield and Barrier not working, or monsters being so damn buffed up, buff all players up!

Either that, or add new calculations that helps us low levels

Meh, it'll get rebalanced soon. Tenboro usually puts out these features for a new major release and then retunes them based on feedback (both players and the server logs) to be balanced again. The bad part is when something happens like where I am now no longer cool for having club/mace sets! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) The even worse part is when my character now sucks at doing something I figured out how to do jusssst right. I think "Oh wow I finally got this tactic/strategy for beating some legendary that I have an elemental weakness against and... damn it!" (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

My weakness has been the reliance on fire/holy spells pretty much since I started the game. I am planning on adding more elements (mostly for resistances/flexibility) once I get my tank ability slots full. Soul level 2 sounds like fun at the ol' bosses. heh

My favorite weapons since around 5.0?
1) The staff, amazingly. Now that it does more damage, it is paradoxically less useful thanks to getting less mana back. Maybe the odds of hit will be effected by staff melee proficiency in the next release? Or not?

My simple question for Tenboro is this: Does Shield/Barrier still only work off of equipment, or does it also work on str/end/wis (the number on the character sheet)

Also does Heartseeker/Title/Blessing of the Mazekeeper/Hath Damage perks work off of the all multiply weapon damage, the damage you see on the character menu, or the damage inflicted on the monster before mitigation?

One good thing about this patch is that it is super fast to level up. I leveled up like 8 times in the last 4 days or something.

LOL That is normal at ~100. In every single game with leveling up, I've seen it slow to a crawl past a certain point. Otherwise, Hito would be level 750 after these 3+ years!

The new quickbar setup is very convenient. Thanks for another update!

One thing to note, there still seems to be a bug related to item world. I fled from combat while in critical HP and was immediately full back on the character page. There was no idling time involved. I went back in, took a few hits, and fled. This worked three times in a row, so at least it seems somewhat consistent.

For now... Just wait until it takes millions of XP/level. Not to mention that to get a decent amount of XP at 300+, it seems that most people that high are constantly using IWBTH and exquisite+ item worlds(true?).
The huge increase in monster attack power means that I'm very happy to have spent tons of points into endurance and agility. They do a lot more damage now but nowhere near what people claim to see happening. If so, I'd be getting hit for 5000 from custom mobs and I'm not. It's probably just the high defense ratings. Sadly, it takes a while to kill everything. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
