Regen used to be better for me, in a cost-effective sense, and it still is, but the quick burst damage i take now it just can't cut it. even if it's more cost effective, if every mob in the round comes along to swat you for 100, that 83 doesn't mean much, but the burst of 754 will keep your ass-grass from getting mowed.

Cost effectiveness may still be true, but no matter how cost effective you are, if you can't finish the arena, it's not worth it.

Edit: However, if it works better for you to use regen over cure, do so, definitely.

I'd like to think of it this way.

If I keep Shield + Regen up, I'll only have to cast Cure every 15-20 turns. If I only keep Shield up, I'll have to cast Cure every 3-5 turns. Regen is there as both a safety net and damage mitigation.

Months ago I made it mandatory to always have Regen in effect. Right now it restores about 120 hp per turn but with the new update it keeps me about halfway to 2/3rds full health all the time, it used to keep me fully charged all the time but again with the increased attack powers on the enemies, it doesn't pack the punch it once did. I have cure 2 but hate using it because 79 MP is a little extreme, id rather stick with my potions.



I just wanted to mention again how crazy over the spirit power is.

23 1 You unleash Pandoras Box on Manbearpig for 9602 soul damage.



That spirit attack consisted of only 3 measely points of power out of my 194 and the attack was OVER 9,000 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)



It was almost enough to take away a third of Manbearpigs hp. I fought him in the crystalfest on normal, but it seemed a little too easy.

Had to scale back arena difficulty to hell with this patch.

Monsters are definitely hitting harder with spirit shield activating much more often.

Might have to go back and finally level up my lvl 60 phase armors

One thing I like about this patch is monsters generally die faster. Generally.

Sadly, the same thing goes for us in Arena. It's like the safety control got nerfed

I died so many times today. In fact, I don't even care if I keep on dying. I'm becoming used to it. Haha. I'm burning all the Lesser/Average Health Potions that I never use in Crysfest.

#1) Go into Crysfest with low MP.
#2) Spam Lesser/Average Health Potions until the Battle Inventory runs out. Use Regen whenever there is enough MP. (This lasts me until Round 20-30)
#3) Either Die or Run Away when the Battle Inventory runs out.
#4) Rinse and Repeat when HP is not 0.

Another thing I forgot to mention, and I haven't seen anyone else mention it... maybe it's just something I missed in the patch notes.

Suddenly my mage staff hits like a baseball bat. I'm killing mobs before I can proc Ether Theft on them. lol


Edit: Then again, I take so much damage, during the attempt it's rarely worth the attempt anymore. :/

Is it only me or exp received from mobs is reduced by 50 % (after beating monsters on the Arena) O_o ?

Looks like a minor bug on the sequence of the events reporting. First the block, then reporting its defeat and then the damage from the counter shows up.

Drop like an artifect, though you cannot shrine it.

Low level player here.

The damage taken from monster is too much, an any level from normal onward.
I'm killed in 2 round with shield, barrier, shadow veil and haste all casted (on normal). Cure is never enough. I can't have regen yet :/
One crit from 1 common monster on normal difficult can erase half of my health points.

And I've got about 800 HP points.
Normal is harder than hell now, 2 round on arena and I've used up 6 mana potion and I'm still dead lol. On normal.

So I'm doing a quick test in Eve of Death, did 10 posts in the spamhaus, I'm getting very normal amounts of exp. Maybe even more than normal. I'm really thinking most of you are just imagining the exp nerfs. I am getting hit for a little bit harder though, but I actually think monsters were doing a little too little damage last patch. I just put up spirit shield, and I'm fine (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)


Also, I didn't get any pony figures (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I want one, how do I get one?

Ok, I don't think I'm losing any exp, so I'm not complaining about that. Though I do have a whole bunch of ability points in exp tank which reportedly do not work (but Tenboro says they do).

But this is really sad, now stun proc weapons are outrageously overpowered, and everything is basically a glass cannon? And due to that, most other procs also become useless because they don't appear often enough now (relatively speaking, we would have more monsters per proc now), and the battle lasts too short for the proc to have any proper effect.

In my case decrease of exp is quite noticeable, besides i have 6/25 Power saver and after imbuement I lose all Karma ( no effect of that skill, at all ?).

Maybe something is causing some people to lose experience and not others? Although that seems unlikely... Earlier in this thread I reported that when I did my arenas post-patch, I earned 600k less than what I had earned a day before the patch, which seems like a huge drop to me. Other than a difference in posting bonus (the post-patch run had a higher bonus), everything was constant: i.e., same difficulty, no Experience Tanks, 60 AL, 5 auras. I just can't think of how to account for such a large difference.

And yeah, the damage I'm taking does seem to be a bit on the excessive side. I had Spark triggering multiple times in each arena on Heroic. I could more or less safely assume that it was going to trigger if I started a round with less than 80% of my maximum HP. At some points I even had to resort to SP farming. But I can deal with this though.

Seems like Temb did some tweakings to IW level gains. Did 3 IWs so far on normal and got 2 times a +2 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)
