I learned that cyberwaveIT just posts random off-topic junk in every thread he visits. Also, that Steven Spielberg regrets making Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind end with Spoiler text - Highlight to read... the guy leaving in the space ship.

QUOTE(radixius @ Feb 11 2012, 01:38) Nah, I just think about all the people it would affect and I stop thinking about it after that until my next huge round of depression comes about 24 to 48 hours later. How do you know they really care and aren't just tolerant out of politeness though? Besides, they're probably busy worrying about their own depressions and problems most of the time.

I guess I don't. So, you're saying I should eat a bullet the next time I feel like eating a bullet?

QUOTE(radixius @ Feb 11 2012, 10:29) I guess I don't. So, you're saying I should eat a bullet the next time I feel like eating a bullet? I'm also saying there's no good reason to feel like it in the first place, and I'm puzzled as to why you have it and can't get rid of it. It may be partly chemical habit, but I never heard of depression showing up for purely chemical reasons, and with the amount of thinking you're doing I'd expect some obsessive neural pathways you keep following reinforce it.

Because I'm bored with life despite all the shit I do. If I'm not living for other people, then I might as well quit.

QUOTE(radixius @ Feb 11 2012, 10:48) Because I'm bored with life despite all the shit I do. If I'm not living for other people, then I might as well quit. Something's making you think life needs/should be more interesting than it is. I found the way out of that by slowing down and enjoying moments, just existing, refusing to have things to do or seek more of them. By just being there. Do you feel depressed while waking up from sleep, or does it only come back with full consciousness when thought processes speed up?

How absolutely boring and trite. QUOTE(Dlaglacz @ Feb 11 2012, 03:58) Do you feel depressed while waking up from sleep, or does it only come back with full consciousness when thought processes speed up?
All day, every day.

I don't have it in this way then. Still, while it seems I can't help you in any way, I believe there's a way for you not to feel bored all the time, and it can be found.

That is something I don't have to worry about. It would be weeks before anybody of importance found out I kicked the bucket. I'm not allowed to take myself out quite yet since I am always a man of my word and I have one more word to keep. After that, no guarantees.

I know this feeling quite well, it has gotten to the point where I wake-up utterly disappointed that I didn't die in my sleep, the rest of the day I feel almost total apathy for anything and anyone around me. The only times I feel any sort of joy is when I either do something dangerous (with a risk of dying) or going to sleep (not having to be awake and miserable).

I gave myself ample time before I took make life. If by forty I've made no great accomplishments for myself, I will make my way up to densest woods up north and take my life. Or if I'm fed up along the way, I'll do my human pinata death idea.

Don't talk about depression with people who don't get it. That's like Depression 101. Generally, there is no one answer that works for everyone. Some people are content just to eat, watch tv, fuck and make more people, and that's all they care to do with the time they have on this earth. Well, that's not me, and obviously it's not rad. Finding a reason to live is something everybody has to puzzle out for themselves. The most anyone else can do is be a cheerleader and root you on. QUOTE(radixius @ Feb 11 2012, 04:48) If I'm not living for other people, then I might as well quit.
That's kind of my philosophy, to a degree. Living life for your own sake is the first step to becoming a detriment to others. There's this quote from Mother Teresa that I thought was really poignant: "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other." Unfortunately I have this disgusting feeling creeping up on me that having children is my raison de vivre. I learned that trying to explore new sites and attempting to do things you've never done before is a really bad idea when you have a test soon.

Fuck yeah, I'd tap that.
