Crane Flies have nicknames "mosquito hawks" and "skeeter eaters"

Despite this, they do not actually eat mosquitoes. In fact, they literally can't eat any other insect at all. They go after nectar and sweet liquids and die pretty quick because their (adult) lifespan is pretty dang short.

Basically, people saw this incredibly harmless, equally incredibly mosquito-like fly and BS'd a positive trait about it so that less folk would kill it on impulse. "Imagine how many mosquitoes this thing could go through!"

You won't hurt yourself if you don't say anything unnecessary.

In 2003 a man climbed a pine tree and committed suicide in Poland.

He wasn't found until 13 years later, at which point the more exposed parts of his corpse were reduced to skeletal remains and the parts with more clothing and closer in proximity to the needles were mummified.

Thanks to large creatures being unable to gain access to the body and scatter it, multiple smaller creatures were able to utilize the hollow parts of the body as a home. Over the years wasps made paper nests in certain parts, bees made entire honey comb architectures throughout the ribcage + abdomen and a family of squirrels were in there too.

Mantises are closely related to cockroaches. Some of the oldest cockroaches in amber were very mantis-like in appearance, though were presumably aggressive hunters like ground beetles rather than ambush predators. Also incredibly related to cockroaches, to the point where they simply ARE cockroaches, are termites.

While people may describe them "like ants" it's actually the opposite - the oldest known termites predate ants by tens of millions of years.

I'm not the only one who sees nothing unfair.
