My username is because i can never get david so i have use davidsama because I hate to have numbers in front of my name.

The mantle of Dark Side has been passed down to many across the internet and, from the time of my inheritance of this title, I was the 47th Dark Side. Apparently, because it's such a common collective of words, it makes it difficult to pinpoint just one individual that belongs to a username like it on a message board. So the "identity" was originally created to be used as an alias for whatever reason and it has been inherited by many people across the web.

The person who handed it down to me was a good friend on another message board; I needed a good alias to get into another board and investigate some pretty malicious individuals who also frequented our board in order to get some dirt on them in case they tried to pull something stupid. Ever since then, I've been using it as a second handle for similar purposes, or just when I want to frequent a place that doesn't really match up with my usual haunts.

So that's the story behind my username. The X is just there because, apparently, the display name was taken, so I had to throw something up there that didn't look TOO goofy.

I will concede, that is the best justification I have ever heard for using such an unoriginal name. Even after seeing the name had been taken, you took it anyway. It's a good thing the original Dark Side is probably a permanent lurker.

I was actually surprised that they hadn't taken the name for their username, but only their display name. At least when I sign in, I don't have to remember putting in the X all the time.

But yeah, I'd link to some history behind the name if the forums I used to go to were still around. My friend (who I haven't spoken to in quite a few years) basically wrote out this tl;dr post on the history behind the name with links to people who have used it before him. It's a shame, I really should've saved it when I had the chance.

When I played Urban Dead, I was going to name one of my characters Darkside. Because he was a side of me that is dark. Unfortunately, that name was taken. I then thought Darkness, but of course that's taken also. I ended up settling on D4rkness. It's amazing that people took me seriously.

The Tentacle part is due to the fact that I like tentacle hentai, and it's combined with Man to make it sound like a name a superhero would have. As for the 61, it's "91" (my birth year) with a 6 instead of a 9. Yeah, I don't get it either.

my name comes from the title of a song from the beatmaniaIIDX series of games. It's stuck with me since the early 00's

My friend Bryan, god rest his soul, gave me the name the second day of class during 7th grade. We were sitting in homeroom and we were talking and he started calling me C-dog.

The 21 got added in high school when I needed a user name for a project at work that I was working on with a group and we needed individual access names and passwords.

We talked on facebook, but I never got the chance to see him again before he passed away.
