In terms of WTFs per minute, that episode was certainly a new high.
I know of some shows that have thrown in little winks to the fandom, but I don't think anyone has ever essentially dedicated a full episode to going "Hey, you know all that stupid shit you guys have come up with? We like it, and it's now canon!"
Yep the WTF level was pretty high. Just watched it a second time, and now that i was prepared for it, and more importantly, adjusted to the new voice actresses, i love it! It's pretty amazing that they did all this, and the result is a big success imho.
My favorite things in order of bestest first:
Spoiler text - Highlight to read...
- The Octavia + Vinyl scene was amazing. I loved how they showed the friction and the friendship. And then the WTF level was going up and up and up, accompanied by some epic music that i think might actually frighten small children.
- Seeing Derpy again was really nice. Best part was her mane doing things because of electricity.
- Steven Magnet going on.
- Mayor's speech was very well done.
- What's this word you keep using, "man"? -- I don't know man! ; That made me laugh, otherwise the Lebowski Ponies were just not funny, as much as i loved that movie.
