But to try anyway: A million is actually a ridiculously big number. I'd say defeating them would require something clever, rather than an all out battle, no matter if she gets help from the Elements, Luna, or whoever. Something like reprogramming them, or stealing their batteries.
How silly? The question itself or is it because it needs more details? Then again I asked a silly question before and got blown away by MSimm1's answer. I was merely wondering how powerful Princess Celestia is. Let me try this one more time. Imagine the following scenario:
The one million-strong army consists of clones of 4 types of simulacrum constructs:
1. Anthromoprh #1: They are the weakest type of construct. Grenade launchers and gauntlet blades make up for it.
2. Anthromorph #2: They are proficient in armed combat. They use various conventional weapons such as a swords, daggers, clubs, shields and crossbows.
3. Beast: They are savages with the strength of ten muscular men. With sharp claws and teeth designed for tearing flesh apart, a single best can easily mutilate a unicorn beyond recognition.
4. Mecha/Flying Tank: They are the strongest and most durable of all constructs. Their oversized fists can shatter pavements and punch a hole through solid concrete walls in a single hit. Not to mention, they can squish a unicorn like tofu. They also have twin cannons firing explosive shells. They are fast in their flying tank form, but bulky and slow when transform into mechs.
Conventional steel weapons exert little or less damage to them. They are however vulnerable to magic attacks, explosive and energy weapons (think lightsabers, plasma guns, lasers and maybe even HV's Ethereal weapons). They are brought into existence through the power of a dark magic artifact and controlled by whoever wields it. This means every single construct is powered by dark magic, not miniature nuclear power cells. Finally, they have no regenerative or self-repair function. To take them out in a single strike, one needs to destroy the dark magic artifact.
The army is ordered to invade Equestria and kill Princess Celestia. For some reason, Princess Celestia is not destined to face the leader (the artifact wielder) of this robotic army nor she possess the Elements of Harmony at the time of battle. Instead she has to hold them off in the outskirts, preventing them from reaching the city until a climatic event happens. She had no choice but to confront this army armed with only her alicorn magic. If you want, you can imagine she is assisted by her royal guards as well.
Question, in your honest opinion as a brony, what is most likely final fate of Princess Celestia?
1. She is able to hold the line and take out up to half of the army then walk out of it without a single scratch.
2. She is able to hold the line and take out up to half of the army but is severely injured. Yet she lives and her wounds will heal in time.
3. She holds the line and takes out up to half of the army before getting killed.
