So, the Japanese dub premiered.

Has anyone watched it yet?

Got around to watching the dub (LOL). It was perfectly fine. Celestia and Twilight were cast perfectly, and Rarity was pretty spot on. The lack of delicious Kansai-ben on Applejack was disappoint. Nothing to say about RD or Pinkie, they were quite alright and I got nothing to complain about. Can't wait to hear one of Pinkie's songs. But Fluttershy was a fail. I would have cast Mamiko Noto, she's the queen of soft-spoken HNNNGGGG-inducing moe.

Also, when its in Japanese, its true nature as SLICE OF LIFE MOEBLOB ANIMU is more apparent. Cute ponies doing cute things....IN JAPANESE. And that makes it okay.

Don't hate me western fanboys/gals but the japanese song is much better than original.

It's a great game but mind that it has some technical issues, mostly in loading & save synchronization. If you ever
encounter a "corrupted save" from TR then read [forums.xbox.com] this, it's common for all console versions.

I'm waiting for when she has a little more dialogue that isn't a bunch of abrupt sentence fragments with interspersed chuckling since I was somewhat unimpressed in my initial reaction. It sounded mostly fine, but not really enough there to get a feel for it.

I could barely get past the opening. It also made me realize why I stopped listening to Jpop after high school.

The only one I had any real issue with was AJ's, though that's more because I'm used to hearing Ashleigh giving her a deeper voice. Then again, AJ's voice was a bit higher in the early parts in the English dub too, so maybe AJ will get a more boish voice once the seiyuu get more comfortable with the characters.

Oh...sorry, misunderstood. I suppose, maybe...we'll have to see if Nightmare Rarity's shtick involves forcing the ponies to always be connected to her or else they die, even while they're off doing something by themselves.

Of course, doing that would make her the single most vile monster encountered thus far.
