Don't get me wrong, I've read a few Derpy fics. (Hell, I read the first half of [www.equestriadaily.com] this one yesterday). And I'm just about finished with my current book, so I've been considering loading up Fallout: Equestria to my Kindle and give it a whirl. Then again, how wise is it really to commit to a "fanfic" where both it and its sequel are featured on the [en.wikipedia.org] Wikipedia List of longest novels?

And my usual reaction to OCs is much like Dan's.

I am basically in the same boat. I'm like "this looks like it could be interesting" but I'm also thinking in the back of my mind "this is probably gonna be awful for some ridiculous reason and I'm going to feel dumb about it afterwards".

What's worse than OCs? Shipping OCs with the actual characters.
