Oh, just finished reading [www.equestriadaily.com] this. It has the Tenbrony Seal of Approval. Discard all your preconceptions about fanfics and go check it out.
I'm still not sure on how I feel about CQCshy. That was awfully out of character for her, considering how she's consistently been characterized. I'm also not sure how I feel about the whole edging closer towards the brony demographic. Its nice, but if they go too far, then I'm afraid it'll lose a lot of its charm and become a parody of itself.

I had that worry, too.
Not to say that this last episode wasn't good, but it could be a harbinger of terrible things to come.
Kind of like what happened to House at the end of S3.
Although I kinda agree. Having Fluttershy go nuts is ok about once per season (see: Best Night Ever), but so far in season 2, she's been OOC in more scenes than she's been normal.
Also, lazy prop reuse or hidden easter egg? You decide.
I for one like badass Fluttershy. Fluttershy doing something other than being cute and timid is fine with me. If we've learned anything from her with her encounters with the dragon and the cockatrice, it's that she clearly isn't always the pushover she's made out to be.
Also, I'm glad we're all not as terrible as these bronies.
I agree that Fluttershy being more than just meek is great, its just that level of violence was rather extreme. We know she can be assertive and strong, but that doesn't have to mean destroying a bear.
As somebody who grew up watching Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life, two shows to which were known to have an excessive amount of violence, I suppose it didn't bother me as much. Mostly because, you know, she was trying to help the bear alleviate some back pain.

So we go from lecturing a dragon to having a staring contest with a Cock-a-thingie to - disregarding Flutterbitch - drop-kicking a bear into submission to give it a massage? Hell, we'll have this by the end of the season.

I... don't know what to say about those. Outside of...

Well, seeing as she has no hands she's at least three to four times smaller than the bear, one would figure more conventional chiropractic techniques are little out of her grasp and more impromptu methods would need to be applied.

I grew up watching those shows too, and if any more of that crap bleeds into MLP, it will ruin the show. (can you imagine a happy happy joy joy version of MLP?) Some of those faces Twilight made were just ugly as sin and pushing too far. I think Fluttershy taking down a bear was just playing on a joke that might not have gone over very well with real hardcore fans of the show.
I like RD a lot more now after that episode. And I like Rarity a little less now (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Yeah Rarity seriously has no point being in the cast anymore. They should just replace with Derpy, but keep Derpy saying just one line or two the entire time, basically being a mute. Oh can you imagine Derpy being part of the mane 6? That would be so awesome.
