They like to drag the season out. The first season was stretched from October 10th to May 7th.

Take into account holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc) for "special" blocks of programming, we'll probably be looking at March or April for the season finale.

MLP is also unusual in that the order was for a full 26 episodes. Cartoons normally get odd numbers like 8 or 12 or 15 or some random shit like that.

Indeed it is rare that the series was picked up for so many episodes. Even when Nickelodeon created the first three Nicktoons (Doug, Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy), they usually had about twelve episodes in a single season stretched out over a six to eight months before the new season. Cartoone Network was just as bad at times.

I guess when you're a channel bankrolled by a major toy manufacturer with some of the most valuable merchandising IPs, you can do that. Ponies are serious business.

Pinkie Pie looks terrible without either her happy-go-lucky poofy hair or sad and straight Pinkamena doo.

And Rarity looks terrible when she's not kicking AJ in the face.

I wish Flutterbitch could have become part of the mane cast.

I wanted to hug Twilight after seeing her so utterly broken and dejected.

Well, Flutterbitch would eventually have turned into the show's main villain, but I'd rather they have sealed Trogdor Discord's power and turned him into a chibi-sized version of himself to keep around to antagonize them. Hell, RD doesn't have a pet yet, outside of that stupid fandom turtle. (Well, there's always Scoot, but eh.)
