Dunno if you've played the game, but up until like disc 3 he has some identity issues mixing part of his life with the life of another dude named Zack, sort of like if Scoot thought she was Rainbow Dash, she'd think her special talent was flying really fast, but it wouldn't be, so, she'd still be blank.

How could I possibly recognize Cloud as a pony if I didn't play the game?

Well, he's fairly popular on the net as the guy with an improbably large sword, hell until I downloaded FF7 about a year ago I had never played it, but could name all the characters from it, I'd also seen Advent Children (I own the UMD of the film) and he's in Dissidia which was pretty good til 012 screwed it into a game that requires skill as opposed to just being better (which skill usually ran into "use nothing but square while dodging cause this thing has over 9000 defense and 9999 attack" which made it boring).
