No. Twi and Bloss are totally the uppity, nerdy, bookish types. Bubbles and Fluttershy are the timid, squeeky voiced, animal loving type, and Dash and Buttercup are the high strung, tomboyish, raring to take on the world types.

Curse you Tenboro for beating me to posting that. That artist has a few tokusatsu-MLP crossovers (super relevant to my interests) I was looking at earlier. Not that anypony here would get the references.

All ponies possess a type of magic, its just unicorns that express it in ZOMGMAGIC terms. Pegasi can control weather and walk on clouds. Earth ponies are all about nature and animals. Winter Wrap-Up basically displays what their magics are linked to, since each species of pony has a particular type of task.
