QUOTE(Ichy @ Jul 30 2011, 17:08) Stamina drain is per round. So it does not matter if you need one turn or 1000000 turns to kill everything.

I stand corrected and chastised,
I evidently misread the Wiki on this :
It is consumed in battle every round (?) at the following rates:
0.050 per round cleared with Great status 0.010 per round cleared with Normal status and below in Arena/Item World 0.020 per round cleared with Normal status and below in Grindfest
(I should have noted "per round cleared")
Still though, I don't think that S&S is anywhere near Magic. Am I wrong on this too ?

This is news to people!? Makes me wonder how some folks were scrambling to clear bosses uber-fast...

QUOTE(JSMII @ Jul 30 2011, 21:54) As per "Nerf pls. Just like you did when magic was "bugged". , it is doubtful in truth that it needs to be nerfed - actually the opposite is true.
+ long ass post
Yeah yeah. I was joking/trolling. But I stand by my previous posts. Magic didn't need to be nerfed either. Melee should have been buffed to magic's level, and not magic being nerfed to melee's shitty level. It's crappy if everything that's fun keeps getting taken away from you.

This. The Damage we are doing now is OK for a Level 100 guy but not for a lvl 300 Guy. In other games you change to harder Locations when you level up. In HV you increased the Difficulty. But as it is now all High Levels had go back to killing Porings. It's not a nerf to undo a major unintentional buff.

Unintentional or not it felt better balanced before this patch.

No need to even fix 1H style, it could have upped its popularity. From what was said last time it's the least played style among the three melee fighting styles. Not sure if this is still the case but 1H could have used this unintentional 'buff'.

If so, then make it an 'intentional' buff instead. Bug must be fixed, period.

2H is still the best for clearing large groups in decent time. 1H doesn't come into its own until you can counter more frequently and requires good Block and OC Boost (LOL, 1H is good at high levels?!). DW still has its place for RoB because of its flexibility in weapon pairing. Niten needs its own proficiency and associated bonuses, rather than being the mutant, red-headed stepchild of 2H and DW.

Two-handed is the most used one. I'm sure you can figure out where that places Sword and Board.

You mentioned sometime back that 1H was the least used melee style but I guess it changed now. How big is the difference between 1hand and dual-wield now? I'm assuming it's still true that 2H is the overwhelmingly more popular melee style, can't find your exact quote but I think last time you said somewhere that 80% of melee people were 2Hers.

About 27% use dual-wield, 32% use sword and board, and 35% use two-handed. 6% have a mainhand one-hander equipped but no offhand. Again, active the last 30 days, across all levels.

I wonder if some abstract deity has the same statistics about us >___>

When you look at equipment data like that, is it based on what they currently have equipped, what's equipped across all sets, or is it some aggregate based on everything they've used in the sample period?

Same question as cmal. I tend to switch fighting styles just to keep profs up so I don't really know how that would work when you measure the numbers.
