I do a lot of scanning to keep the player monster bestiary updated. Following are two scans of the same monster taken within 20 turns of each other during one resent IW:

The second scan is correct. This is not the first time I have noticed a resistance being dropped. The other examples were also mechanoids. So far, Fire and Cold have been the two that have disappeared.

Might be a rounding error or something. I don't know what the threshold is for a resistance being low enough to be considered a weakness is.

Just for the fun of it, I switched to axe and shield. Then noticed that my counter was taking out too many monsters with one shot. Following are some examples of a counter followed by a hit (if they survived the counter) or a hit from another round. Other than heartseeker, bleeding wound, and overwhelming strike; there were no other effects in play.

Goddamit! I hate this! Since I am using cyrillic keyboard I often press the right button but wrong tab while passing that maze. I've lost overall about 60 stamina due to that, and the damned maze just approves my answer of "И" instead of "B" (which is the same button) and informs me: "you've lost 5 stamina, U MAD?". Please, just make it so that the answer should be at least A-Z letter, not cyrillic/arabic/katakana/something else. PLEASE!

As concerns to nwebl's post on Counter Strike. Yep it is interesting - but only interesting. I saw this some time ago, & I ran the math out. It gets pretty interesting if you max the asscoicated stats & one handed out (That would be about 250 for the stats & 200 for the skill - if you've been collecting arties and/or advancing the associated stats along with one handed Prof you likely hit this max somewhere around level 210-225). A couple of things to note :
First and most interesting are the following three items : 1) The counter strike will do more damage than a normal hit [*], at my Stat/skill level it comes out to usually be 1.5 the noraml damage from a basic hit. 2) The Counter Strike provides a possibility for you to double tab your target. (If you built it up high enough you may even get this and hit additional targets -depending on how far you are along with building up Counter Strike). So essentially you can do normal damage + 1.5*Normal damage (or so) with a single hit on your target. I haven't seen Counter strike yet process more than once on a single target, but if it would then finally perhaps Sword and Shield might have a use other than in Ring of Blood. 3) Counter Strike & Overwhelming Strike can and often do process together which gets it all really going as you gain quite of combat effeciency from both of these. (Look at the Wiki on this, I myself think certain aspects still need to be increased - but thats just me)
The Stun proc is alas undocuemented. I have not seen a duration yet (when hovering the mouse over the Stun Icon) reading more than "0". What is interesting is that on rare occasions I have noted the same monster to have a Stun Icon for two back-to-back combat rounds. I haven't been able to track this down yet as the Stun only comes about from a Counter Strike which itself is suppose to only process when you counter strike because a monster hit you. So if the monster was stunned from the last combat round and unable to attack where did the next Stun come from ?
One other facet of Counter Strike & Overwhelming Strike. Technically (& without a club) it appears that with the current patch you could technically have 6 monsters under stun indefinetely (a very unlikely occurance until you max the these out) while killing a seventh monster.
[*] It is undocuemented if you can increase this damage in other ways (ie without increasing the associated stats & profs) - infusions and specials like Bubblegum (Bubble gume would be interesting). According to the description the weapons procs will not process ( which is a shame as having the chance to actually steal additional mana or spirit using a weapon of the Illithid/Banshee would improve Sword & Shield to the point where it might be worth using) - so you will not pick up bleed or PA on conter struck targets (Again another shame, as Sword & Shield is argueably the slowest way to kill making it the [b]WORST fighting style int the entire game system [/b] as it REALLY consumes the MOST stamina per round of combat bar NONE which directly implies it is the SLOWEST way to level your character (likely by a factor of 10 or better.)
Considering in Real Life, Sword and Shield actually is the least tiring method of hand to hand combat perhaps if T gets around to revisting S&S he may fix the above and change the rate of Stamina loss to reflect this which would actually make S&S (with a couple of tweak) a viable fighting style - but I wouldn't hold your breath. He's done a lot to bring Fighters and Magic user more into synch (but magic is far the better choice still). If he puts the effort into it we may finally See Katana get revamped (It really needs either its own skill or at the least the ability to pick up one handed prof {if I am correct that the current patch still doesn't grant prof when using it}. Also I don't think of all the weapon drops there is a Katana of the Vampire/Illithid/ or Banshee - I am not sure if you can have an Etheral Katana or if it can be a Legendary Weapon. If this was an oversight or on purpose only T could answer....................

Experience from an actual, regular 1HS user with max proficiencies (in everything): counters are hella strong on Normal once you max your counter chance. Its actually faster than DW. You lose some of the raw single strike damage, but with good block you counter a lot and it does a lot of damage. Enough to actually kill a healthy monster.
