Just finished both seasons of Gochi Usa. So great. 8/10. Now what should I watch next... Haganai? Fate Kaleid? Dog Days? Charlotte? Gosick? QUOTE(uareader @ Dec 27 2016, 01:26) I wish it was easier to watch animes than what I'm doing.
And what are you doing anyway?

Huh, Charlotte would be a bad choice, unless you don't care much about plot pacing and story errors. A good substitute might be Plastic Memories? At the very least, both animes gave me sort of the same feeling while watching them.

Mmm..I think it may just be controversial rather than plain bad. Quite a few reviewers on MAL give it a score of 1 & 3 but it has an aggregate score of MAL of 7.91. Plastic memories is just too sad from what I hear. I'm going with Gosick. It has real high ratings and more lolis!

Well, spoilers about Charlotte, because MAL anime scores are unreliable owing to people rating before they even finish the whole cour, and based on what famous anime youtubers say, but:
It dumps all the resolving of plot points into its last episode. Quite similar to this season's Occultic;Nine. If you're fine with all that, it's not too horrible, generic, sure, but watchable.

Oh boy...reached episode 8 of Gosick.
How could a show be so inconsistent?
1 episode, I was so eager to know what happens next that I delayed my bedtime to sneak in another episode and the next, I was shaking my head in disappointment and rolling in my bed.
I'd expect near flawless logic in a detective anime but frankly, a lot of it doesn't make sense. Thus every big reveal always goes from a climax into an anti-climax. Fortunately or unfortunately, it is quite good at keeping suspense. So, most of the time you get a great thrilling experience only to be let down at the end of an mystery.

The way I see it, detective anime don't try to make sense. They try to find convoluted ways that the audience couldn't possibly figure out so as to give the episode a wow factor. This is alright when presented in manga form, but not so much in anime. If you went in looking for Sherlock-level deductive reasoning and tiny clues scattered about in a genre that most anime watchers haven't delved much into, you would be met with huge disappointment. Then again, if the producers of such anime were to put such care and effort into every scene, they would expect a proportionate pay off, which is unlikely as well. Thus, detective anime will likely always be as you've stated, inconsistent and illogical.

Well, instead of a Wow factor, I'm feeling a WTF, even with my benefit of doubt switch turned on.
I think the problem is that they writers wrote themselves into a corner in their attempt to make it seem like its some sort of complex and profound mystery. Thus having to use some Deus Ex Machina to burrow their way out.
I would have preferred simple mysteries if that were the case like in episode 9 and 10 which I just watch.

So I finally reached episode 21. At the home stretch now. Anyway, apparently after my second last comment, things got vastly better. Although my complaints still exists, the bad parts got significantly less pronounced to the point that it can be forgiven while the good parts retains its shine. The mysteries still isn't very good IMO, but at least the execution is great so its still interesting to watch. Overall, I would revise my score to an 8 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Just watched the 7th episode of Problem Children.
Surprisingly I don't really enjoy it as much as I had hoped. Doesn't really have any major flaws on its own besides probably the lack of character and world development. But can't really blame it since its only 10 episodes long.
Still, I can't help but feel that a lot of the elements remind me of other animes who've done it better. The premise reminds me of no game no life, leticia reminds me of shinobu and lily reminds me of dog days.
Meh, maybe a 6/10.
I also think I made a mistake for grabbing FFF's version. The translation wasn't very good. It was hard to understand certain conversations and some word choices seemed odd.
