Probably here. There's a Avatar : The Last Airbender (movie) thread in the Culture Corner.
It will get moved if it is considered to be in the wrong section and you know how to read and react to the usual "did it wrong" posts when they happen.
Would you know if they actually finish the manga already? I heard that the ending news came totally out of nowhere and some kind of sequal is in the works.
Not only are they bringing over the Lupin III tv series 1, Samurai Pizza Cats, and Shin Getter vs. Neo Getter, Discotek is going to release Mad Bull 34 on DVD. I came in my pants so hard.
As goofy as Combattler was compared to his younger brothers, a modern version like this could be pretty slick. Man, the production values for the show were laughably bad.

SRW:J made me kind of interested in Voltes V, Combattler V, and Tosho Daimos. I've endured horrible production values with the original Mazinger trilogy of the 70s (well, I'm only on episode 20 of Grendizer but it's not like its going to get stunningly better in 50 episodes) so I could probably stomach watching their original shows.
I think a reboot of any classic super robot show would be awesome. I saw an episode of Shin Mazinger to preview the new retelling of the original anime and I was blown away by how slick of a show it is. I really should finish Grendizer so I can move on to newer and better things.
You know what's even worse? That footage is from a pachinko machine. That's like making a big-budget TV show for a slot machine. orz
If I was a super-rich billionaire industrialist, I would totally be bankrolling reboots of some the robot shows I watched as a kid. And Chizuri is still a total hottie.
That would be a cause greater than cancer research, and I would donate my drug trafficking money to it, but I have a revolutionary group in a third world country to funnel weapons and money into.
