QUOTE(Mika Kurogane @ Apr 8 2012, 14:32) fairly receptive people from the Internet [...] can help Seems to work for me. I suspect my issue is rather that I can rarely find a person who would think in the ways I do. I know one, one who could finish sentences I started, and whose thoughts I could grasp by single words spoken, but that wasn't what she was looking for and she prefers to spend her time without my presence. I think I would be happy with such a person, but I have no idea how to find another one. So, generally, I suspect I don't trust people because they're too different, not because I have "trust issues". I guess it's easier to find things in common for those who don't spend a lot of time focused on what's going on inside their minds.

So, basically, you need someone to convince you that people who are different from you or see things in a different way deserve your trust ? I think you and me have the same issue. Kind of. QUOTE(Dlaglacz @ Apr 8 2012, 14:40) I know one, one who could finish sentences I started, and whose thoughts I could grasp by single words spoken, but that wasn't what she was looking for and she prefers to spend her time without my presence. I think I would be happy with such a person, but I have no idea how to find another one. Hmm, or maybe not. That's kind of deep. You want someone who's linked to your soul but won't merely rely on you ? That said, I might be just like that as well. I don't want others to feel the way I feel. I forgot to mention I also self-diagnosed myself with a dependent personality disorder (scored a 7 or 8 out of 8 on Wikipedia's DSM-IV extract, so it's pretty much guaranteed), meaning I find it extremely tough to act on my own and need a strong ('dominant') person to rely on. Commonly seen as mere attention whoring but it's slightly deeper than that. Please correct me if any of the above is wrong. This is what debates are about. Again, I'm nowhere near a psych whiz, but I've always been interested in how the human brain works (might explain the current Harumi Kiyama avatar). I don't care much about mankind itself, but I care about how people think about and react to other people. I don't feel confident enough for the Serious Debates section yet, so sorry for being that boring, Rad and Rob. :3 This post has been edited by Mika Kurogane: Apr 8 2012, 15:03

I don't see why you would need a psychologist or anything for that matter, you seem to belong to the most healthy denizens around here...
OTOH, I don't know how your life is going, maybe you're extremely impaired in your everyday life because of these thoughts....

Dlaglacz doesn't look healthy to me in the inside. And I don't mean this as an offense, but as an observation. His posts look honest, yet blunt and slightly cold, just like mine are either serious, cynical, sarcastic or complete bullshit.
Which could mean he has gone through psychological pain. Like most of us, to be honest.
Slightly on-topic : "De la glace" means "some ice" in French.

I have a friend that is like him(if he is like that at all), highly unable to express his emotions and/or deal with them in most circumstances. The first impression that most people have about him is that he is an Ice-cold, extremely depressed, maybe even "evil" person, whereas I can confrim that He is the person that I have shared the most laughs with in my life. He is highly intelligent, knows how to voice his opinion and doesn't have a problem with it, has goals, hobbies and desires which he works upon, all of which are indicators of a good mental health, all of which are also seemingly present in Dlaglacz. But seeing as he is as intelligent as I deem him to be, he will have his reasons to suspect the need for a psychologist/analyst, that's why I added that I know virtually nothing about him, and that's why I said, that he just makes a heallthy impression to me because the first impression most people would get of him would be the opposite of healthy.

I apologize if I computed your post wrong, Benjiro, because that's what I do most of the time, but you can be intelligent and unhealthy in the inside at the same time.
Not being healthy in the inside isn't a fatality. It doesn't mean you are some kind of freak who goes around killing people and creating threads all over the place. It simply means you can't fully live the life a person who is healthy in the inside lives without dealing with it first. Either by yourself, which usually is tough, or through other means.
Then again, that was a mere observation. In other words, worthless opinion. I'm highly judgemental and subject to prejudice and I often hate my guts for this, but that's my personality and I have to accept it if I don't want to or can't change.
Perhaps I should rephrase this as "psychologically suffering" instead. Doesn't that sound less derogative already ?
EDIT : I've been making quite a lot of typos lately. Must be the meds.

I eated Chinese foods. Or at least the stuff that's made by Chinese people and labeled as such, but never actually been seen eaten by Chinese people.

If the republic should ever again enforce a draft on its populace, then government should nationalize the industry during the years of war.

QUOTE(derpymal @ Apr 9 2012, 00:04) There's a code for putting in cutie marks into every post, or putting one in your sig. It's in that best pony thread.
