I see no wrong with their intelligence. I think everyone was like that at one point in their life. It's what being a teenager is about. Or do you think most people who post on youtube are in their thirties?
If I recall correctly, I also thought "leet" was awesome when I was 14/15. And I used pretty retarded memes (not that I don't now). Frankly, proper netiquette comes to you with experience; So I don't think these kids dumb, merely inexperienced - they'll be cool given time*.
* Ask any of the older members of this forum what I was like when I first got here. I was even more a prude than I am now. Was overly annoying and used cliche phrases and dumb jokes all the time. Given time, I learned and improved.

Just go outside and look at stuff - really fix your gaze at something in nature, and note its complexity. You like board games like DnD? You're an adult - do it if you like it, and screw what others say about it. You only live once, so enjoy every minute of it.**
