Well shit, Obama's turning out to be the worst president in American history. Even worse than William Henry Harrison?

I'll admit I'm not well versed in politics at all, it just doesn't interest me. However, I know you can't just throw money at all your problems.

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid (after Wikipedia'ing a bit about the last two since I had no idea what they were until now) were praiseworthy ideas but not exactly good ones in the current financial situation as that will only make things worse.

Still, drastically reducing war costs and trying to fix the subprime issues probably would have helped much more with the debt. Also, the usual, disproportionate and unnecessary government expenses you see in every fucking country. I'd bet my upper left lung the US are no exception to the rule. And I'm not even talking about the health care program abuse you see in every country, causing the Social Security financial gap to be deeper than the Grand Canyon. (France is well-ranked in that abuse domain, probably in the top 5)

I'm not well-versed in politics either. Most presidents fail because the system itself is a joke.

See the positive side: You can always study politics and engage yourself in them and swooplah: Suddenly you're a politician yourself and drain funds for doing nothing! Sounds like a plan? Hell yeah!(Might eventually not work in every country <.<; )

Anyways, should I start getting worried about spending too much time on the internet?

Too bad I didn't get any extra credits for that.... :/

LOL. If your teacher was a Dos Equis addict (or at least knew about the commercial), (s)he probably laughed hard.

Seriously, Benjiro. Laughing right now isn't good for me as it causes coughing and uses up MP when I perform the special jutsu required to prevent another pneumothorax, but that was fucking awesome.

QUOTE(radixius @ Mar 22 2012, 15:40) *
Sure, if you're an idiot. And if this needs to come from "the masses" then maybe you should do it in a place that isn't full of people that don't agree with your viewpoint. Because that's kind of like motivating a skyscraper to move of its own volition.
Then you think it's best to argument that in places where everyone already knows how it works? That doesn't make sense to me - why try to educate where people are already educated?

QUOTE(radixius @ Mar 22 2012, 15:40) *
I mean, the sheer fact that you can't come up with a valid argument from your own brain and fall back on quoting other people doesn't give others much stock in what you're saying, since when you can only repeat stuff back like a myna bird it makes you seem stupid. Not that you are, but to convince others, which is what you're trying to do to get this information out there and maybe reform something you consider broken, you need to at least try to manage the information you have and reorder it in a way that makes sense to you that you can feasibly get out to "the masses" so they'll be more willing to help someone with ideas, rather than exemplary quoting skills.
Valid argument doesn't become more valid when it comes from my own brain. When other people have already put in the effort of stating how things work well, point by point, why would I waste time rewriting it? It certainly wouldn't be the efficient use of my time. I'm not going to spend my life explaining for each and every person that doesn't understand some detail. I'm not that much in love with helping others.

QUOTE(radixius @ Mar 22 2012, 15:40) *
And if you reply by stating that you're not trying to pull others to your side or that you don't care, then you're a liar, and a bad one at that. Simply because you wouldn't get a giant bug up your ass and castigate the "copyright holders" at every opportunity.
I'm obviously trying to show people how things work. That's because I care for my own stable life in society that won't go over the cliff because uninformed majority steers it there. So I'm shouting that's not the right way. But I'm not going to make myself a fighter for truth either, as such people don't end up enjoying stable lives in the end.

Turned avatars and signatures back on just to check what everyone is using now and I suddenly realized why the only Touhou rad has a preference for is Patchouli Knowledge. I feel like a bit of a slowpoke as usual, but almost everything is purple in his forum Lebensraum now, so it kind of helps.

LLTYT : Fun fact is I was planning to use the perfused Patchy with an oxygen mask as my new avatar but couldn't find it. Someone will draw another one eventually.

I really just use whatever color I'm enamo(u)red with at any given moment. It's been red and pinks and purples lately. But I'm starting to veer towards blue again, but who the heck knows when something will be done about that.

Maybe a week.

Maybe a month.

Maybe never.

QUOTE

The book which tells the moving, uplifiting true story of an unlikely friendship between a man on the streets and the ginger cat who adopts him and helps him heal his life.

When James Bowen found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet.

Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas.

Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts.

A Street Cat Named Bob is a moving and uplifting story that will touch the heart of anyone who reads it.

Instead of finding a work around for donations, why don't we just charge pixiv for being a working back up to their site. Between two or three guys they've uploaded most of the site here. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Even though pixiv is fully aware e-hentai (as well as other popular 2D porn sites and boorus) holds most of the works uploaded there, Japanese artists in general don't like their pictures to be posted somewhere else. This would probably result in a deathmatch between Tenboro's ponies and pixiv admin's 2D yakuza. Pixiv generally allows for reproduction in their ToS now if there's a link back to the artist or picture itself, but that's besides your backup idea.

Considering how many premium accounts people have on pixiv now (meaning a likely positive balance regardless of how many servers they have), Tenboro could always try that but I doubt they'd agree to it.

LLTYT : 5 weeks ago, I thought I couldn't live without pixiv. I loaded a couple pics on that emergency iPad (fucking Apple shit with no accessible filesystem unless you jailbreak it) then completely forgot about it. Maybe it'll all come back once I allow my hormones to go berserk again, but it'll be way too late to catch up on the new stuff. For now, I'll just limit myself to the 2ch GL/yuri book finding thread since even minor conventions are far in between (with GLF7 on April 1st) and the thread is pretty much dead. Ten new relevant doujinshi in 5 weeks ? You have to be kidding me. Search harder, bitches.

You do realize that was half joke and half gripe about the number of pixiv account rip galleries we have. I think that one uploader has around 1000 or so of them.

I missed the joke part, but certainly not the gripe part as I know what kind of shit the Vigilante has to deal with.

I still need to get less serious sometimes.

I had it in memory as "..my friend" . I stand corrected. (Maybe that's why I didn't get extra credits? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) )
And yes, my writing is extremely poor... and this example here is one of the better ones... I sometimes very often fail to decipher my own handwriting.
Maybe I should become a doctor?

Bad handwriting is pretty common. Smart doctors use word processors and print prescriptions to prevent drugstore misinterpretations (and hide the fact that their handwriting most likely is worse than yours).

I've only seen that happen twice outside of hospital, though.

Most generalists here have level 1 computer skills and would rather have their patients take methotrexate (sp?) instead of meteoxane by accident. (Always fully read the leaflet before taking the actual medicine. Doctors often tell you that's bullshit and will only cause you to freak out about the possible side effects, but it's well worth it.)

Such a stupid world we live in.

Sometimes I look at one of my scribbled notes and wonder what I was trying to write. Fortunately, most of my work is done on computers and most of my handwritten work are design documents and a math equations. oshi- is that a 3 or a 5?
